My first experience was 1997. One officer at the Wattay airport took
me, he said
let me show you around the office. When we got in, he asked for some
money.
I said I haven't changed my money yet, but will come back to see him
again.
Of course, I never went back to see that ***. Two years later, he
died in bike
crashed.

3 years ago, I crossed the bridge at 7 pm. The lady official beggar
asked for $1 for late
arrival. I asked where is the rule, she replied there ain't rule 555.

Hahaha...You forgot your very first day at Wattay airport. For me, it
was a big surprise when those lao officers, with many stars on their
shoulders, acted like beggers. One of them asked if I can give him a
gift, anything, he even tried to take my trench coat and my
camcorder.... To get rid of him, I had to play signs language: "No
speak lao".

Thats nothing new, it happen to us too, when we went to get our visa
at Nongkhai... went for the interviewed, everyone pass through easily,
my father was stuck for over 30 mins. before they granted the visa
into Laos, after that the Laotian man that interview my dad follow us
to the bridge to get on the bus and ask my dad for some money LOL.....
