all this history is swell. what i am mostly disturbed by is the fact
that the late som-ok, a modern medical doctor by training would naively
believed that this folk tale yah poh prah khao would protect him in
times of danger. this is where i have a lot of problem with some of my
lao compatriots who tend to believe anything superstitious. clearly the
deadly results said otherwise.

i love to listen to old lao folk tales and up to a point.i will
caterogically refuse to make them the focal points or the guiding light
of my life or my destiny.

again these lao folk tales belong in the libraries and books for kids
to read.
