Re: Korean alphabet is under attack!!

According to a news article from one major daily-post(Joongang ilbo),
about 40% of Korean elementry school students use wrong Korean
language expression everyday. Hangeul(the Korean alphabet) destruction
has been becoming a major social issue in our nation.

What is in danger? Hangeul or the Korean language?

It is not an
assumption but a fact that there are some difficulties in
communication between different generations in our society. Our
grandparents really don't know what 'KIN' and 'ㅋㅋ' stand for. It is
not a funny situation.

I guess there's always been certain words or expressions that are used
and understood among specific groups of people. It's called dialect.

The main reason of this phenomenon is a broad usage of internet. Young
generations are spending more and more time in cyberspace these days.
They are using their own internet languages or 'terms' while having
communications in cyberspace. We call these newly made words as 'Alien
words'. They are briefer than their original forms but, not real
Korean words actually.

Language evolves. The Korean language cannot be an exception. What can
be denoted as not-real-word if it is actually used to convey meaning
between people?

It is essential to preserve our alphabets, further our language.

# What is in danger? Hangeul or the Korean language?
Though widely used, the term "hangeul pagoi" isn't appropriate. Nobody's
trying to change the shape of the hangeul alphabet.

Our
government and schools should make a right policy to prohibit this
Hangeul destructing situtation. Otherwise, we are going to lose our
original alphabets, the most precious legacy.
