Passover greeting card etiquette

Hello, I'm from rural England, my family is allegedly Church of
England (in so far as we celebrate Christmas, get married and baptise
our children in the state-run village church; that's about it; we're
more "England" than "Church"). My sister has a lovely long-standing
American Jewish boyfriend (as Mel Brooks says "Jew... ish" - not a
frequent Synagogue attendee, any more than I'm a regular at Church).
They send my family Christmas cards and so forth.
I've only just realised it's Passover tomorrow. They're currently in
the USA celebrating Passover with his family, and if I pop a card in
the post this weekend, it will be on their doormat when they return to
Europe.
Please forgive my utterly naive questions (at least I want to learn),
but:
* Is sending/receiving a card appropriate for American Jews? Is it a
nice thing for my family to do, as non-Jews, or would this just be
creepy?
* Should I stick to a purchased card (if such things exist; I can
visit a sufficiently large town where I'm sure they do), or would
something home-made with handprints from my two-year-old daughter be
appropriate? Are there particular appropriate easy-to-draw symbols my
daughter might like to colour in? We usually send hand-made Christmas
cards.
.
