"If the Holocaust-denying, nuclear bomb-building, terrorism-
sponsoring president of Iran thinks he's going to flit into New York
next week for the U.N. General Assembly and escape unchallenged, boy
is he going to be in for a surprise. Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel
yesterday added his name to a small but high-powered international
group of private citizens who are pushing to have Iran thrown out of
the United Nations in response to Iran's violations of the 1948
Convention to Prevent and Punish the Crime of Genocide.
President Ahmadinejad will also be met with a large rally on
September 20 outside the U.N. at noon organized by the Conference of
Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, the Jewish
Community Relations Council of New York , and the UJA-Federation of
New York . The rally, in support of Israel , calls for
implementation of U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701, which calls
for disarming Iran 's proxy army Hezbollah. It also calls for
supporting the war against state sponsors of terror, including
Iran . The executive vice chairman of the Conference, Malcolm
Hoenlein, told us yesterday that he's received requests from as far
away as Texas , Arkansas , Ottawa , and New Hampshire to participate
in the rally.

The legal effort in which Mr. Wiesel is involved, established at the
Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, includes a former Israeli
ambassador to the United Nations, Dore Gold, and a former Israeli
ambassador to America, Meir Rosenne. "It is hard to believe that at
a time when the president of Iran is making statements denying the
Holocaust and does not hide his intention to erase Israel from the
map, the enlightened world is planning to host Ahmadinejad at the
opening of the General Assembly instead of evicting his country from
the U.N. altogether," the group said in a statement issued yesterday.
It might seem farfetched to invoke a genocide convention against
Iran when, thank goodness, no genocide has happened yet. But the
treaty - which Iran itself signed and ratified - is called the
Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of
Genocide. In Rwanda , and Darfur , the United Nations and the world
waited until after the slaughter to act. In this case, there has
been a warning. The leader of Iran's proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah's
Hassan Nasrallah, has stated that if the Jews "all gather in Israel,
it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide," and
said, "it is an open war until the elimination of Israel and until
the death of the last Jew on earth."
The treaty states that "Direct and public incitement to commit
genocide" is punishable. We don't have much confidence in the
enforceability of international law, which seems to be used in
practice mainly as a hammer by neutralist groups like Human Rights
Watch to pound Israel and America . Yet the legal campaign, like the
rally to be held in New York , is significant in shaping public
awareness of Iran 's intentions - an awareness that is vital to
preventing the genocide that Iran openly boasts that it intends."

Mass National Solidarity Rally As World Leaders Gather at U.N.

Sept. 20th Event to Support Israel, the War On Terror, and the

NEW YORK, Sept. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- A National Solidarity Rally will
be held on Wednesday September 20, 2006 at 12 noon in Dag
Hammarskjold Plaza across from the United Nations. Many thousands of
people from throughout the New York area, the eastern seaboard and
beyond, are expected to join the mass rally in solidarity with
Israel, in support of the war against global terror and its state
sponsors, and to demand the release of the three Israeli soldiers
being held hostage. Cosponsored by the Conference of Presidents of
Major American Jewish Organizations and the Jewish Community
Relations Council of New York, in conjunction with United Jewish
Communities, UJA-Federation of New York, and the Jewish Council for
Public Affairs as well as scores of national and local
organizations, the demonstration will coincide with the presence of
world leaders at the opening sessions of the U.N. General Assembly.
It is expected that Iranian President Amadinejad will be in
attendance.
Malcolm Hoenlein, Presidents Conference Executive Vice Chairman and
Michael Miller, JCRC Executive Vice President said the rally will
attract large numbers of participants with attendance expected to be
in the tens of thousands. People of all faiths will be gathering
together to show the people of Israel who have been through a
difficult time, that the American people stand with them. They will
call on the leaders to see to the implementation of U.N. Resolutions
1559 and 1701 that call for the disarming of Hezbollah and the
prevention of their rearmament and the prompt release of the
kidnapped Israeli soldiers.

Howard Rieger, UJC President, said that the response to the
mobilization that is underway has shown that people recognize that
this is a key time for us to send world leaders a critical and
powerful message. Numbers do count. Public officials, entertainers,
and religious and ethic leaders will be participating in the
program. Representatives of the families of the soldiers being held
hostage will also participate.

John S. Ruskay, Executive Vice President and CEO of the UJA-
Federation of New York said that "We are here to tell the world that
we will not be silent in the face of terror and attacks. As I look
to the future, I am sobered by the road that appears to be before
us. Yes, we will stand with the people Israel yet again. As we have.
As we must. But facing years, if not decades, of more hostility,

Some thoughts on the upcoming rally and the state of the world.

In 1939 a young American Jewish activist, barely out of her teens,
visited THE NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR. There she sought out as many high
ranking JAPANESE officials and their wives as possible. She said
only two words to each of those JAPANESE officals and their wives.

The words, in the form of a simple two word question, were:
"You Jewish?"

Hitler had granted Japanese citizens "Honorary Aryan Status".
The Axis Powers at the time were Germany, Italy and Japan.

Though Japan was a full-fledged member of the Nazi Axis and acted
like it in China where some 30 MILLION CHINESE PEOPLE were
slaughtered by JAPAN during the 1931-1945 period it was not fooled
by Hitler's granting of "Honorary Aryan Status" to the people of
Japan. The Japanese people were not then and are not now tall blond
fair skinned blue-eyed "Aryans".

Though Japan was an ally of Hitler it was able to look a short
distance away to Stalin's Soviet Union to see the fate of another
Hitler ally, which had signed the infamous Hitler-Stalin non-
aggression pact of 1939, only to be invaded by Hitler in June of
1941. Hitler eventually slaughtered between 20 MILLION and 27
MILLION SOVIET PEOPLE.

So it came to pass on December 7th, 1941 that Japanese planes bombed
Pearl Harbor. Clearly Japan was hoping to destroy the American
Pacific Fleet in port at Pearl Harbor, leaving America unable to
pursue a Pacific War against Japan, but angry enough to join
America's Mother Country, England, in the war against Hitler, thus
opening a Second Front against Hitler and slowing Hitler's march
across the Soviet Union down long enough for Japan to prepare itself
to become Hitler's NEXT VICTIM,should Hitler succeed in destroying
the Soviet Union.

Unfortunately for Japan the US aircraft carriers were at sea on
December 7th, 1941, rather than in port at Pearl Harbor and so
America was able to wage BOTH the Pacific War against Japan AND to
eventually open up the Second Front against Hitler in Europe.

The 2 word question: "You Jewish?", asked by that young female
Jewish American activist to the Japanese officials and their wives
at the 1939 NEW YORK WORLD'S FAIR could well be asked today to so-
called "IRANIAN" officials and their wives at the United Nations and
around the world by other activists. So-called "IRAN" was called
Persia before 1935. It was named "IRAN" in 1935 when Persia sought
to remake itself as another ally of Hitler. "IRAN" literally means:
"LAND OF THE ARYANS".

Like the Japanese in the Hitler era, Persians may well discover that
they too
are not really "Aryans" at all. They are not really tall blond blue-
eyed fair
skinned Nazi Germans by any stretch of the imagination no matter how
insane the
tyrants who rule Persia today may be.

So-called "Iran" has long been
in the hands
of lunatics who are traitors to Persia and Shia Islam and have been
in bed with
the enemies of both.

you know how the nation of Iran got its name? For thousands of
years, the
country we now know as Iran was known as Persia. But in 1935, the
shah of Iran,
the father of the man deposed in 1979, was a Nazi sympathizer. He
hated the
Jews. So he decided to show his true stripes by renaming his country
Iran, which
literally means "land of the Aryans."
Later, that same shah welcomed Haj Mohammad Amin al-Husseini, the
exiled grand mufti of Jerusalem, into the country. The mufti was on
the run
because of his pro-Nazi work and his efforts in attempting to bring
the Jewish
Holocaust to the Middle East. Al-Husseini would later go on to
inspire and tutor
Yasser Arafat in
the art of Jew-killing. Arafat referred to al-Husseini as "uncle."
The Nazi shah may have received good notices from Berlin, but London
was none too thrilled with his pro-Nazi position. And, unfortunately
for him and
fortunately for the rest of the world, Hitler did not conquer the
world. The
shah was deposed by the British and replaced with his son. But the
name "Iran"
stuck. And it illustrates the visceral,underlying anti-Semitism that
has shown
itself throughout history in the Islamic world. "

distressed that programs like
Washington Journal on c-span seem to provide a forum for
anti-Semites and enemies of Israel and the Jewish people in
general who seem to not only call into that t.v. show, but get
through, and get
on the air, where they are seldom interupted or cut off by the show's
moderators. We feel that a 2 minute delay could enable the show's
moderators to
screen out the anti-Semites and enemies of Israel and the Jewish
people, however
no such 2 minute delay seems to be in place. Moreover the moderators
of that
show and others do not seem to be of a mind to cut off the anti-
Semites and
other enemies of Israel and the Jewish people in general who
regularly call into
that show and others
on c-span. We have therefore created this Yahoo Group in the hopes
that members
of the group will become regular viewers of c-span and will call in
regularly to
Washington Journal and other c-span call in t.v. shows, to support
Israel and
the Jewish people and to counter the anti-Semites and other enemies

We have great love for the people of Persia. It is tragic that the
Persian
people are living under the rule of an evil tyrant and his gang.

We can recall that it was another evil tyrant, Saddam Hussein,who
arranged to
have the philosophical writings of his own evil uncle Khairallah,
published in a
treatise titled 'Three Whom God
Should Not Have Created: Iranians, Jews and Flies."

Just as Hitler would have wiped out the people of Japan, if he had
had the
chance to, even though Japan was an ally of Nazi Germany, as soon as
he had
finished wiping out the people of the Soviet Union, even though the
Soviet Union
had been an ally of Nazi Germany before Hitler invaded the Soviet
Union in June
of 1941, so Saddam Hussein would gladly have wiped out every single
Persian on
earth if he had had the chance.

We hope that the people of Persia will reclaim the proud name of
their nation
and rename so-called "Iran" Persia as Persia is the true name of
that nation.
Persia is not now, and has never been the so-called "LAND OF THE
ARYANS",
despite the fact that it is wrongfully called "Iran" now.

We would love to see "regime change" in Persia which would set
Persia back on
the road to democracy and peace and freedom.

Jews and Persians have much in common. We shudder at the thought of
the coming
carnage that will have to be inflicted upon Persia to accomplish
regime change,
and the destruction of the nuclear weapons program and other weapons
of mass
destruction programs and stockpiles there if Persia is unable to rid
itself of
its insane regime by itself. But that may have to be. It had to be
in Nazi
Germany to free Germans from the rule of the mad man Hitler and his
insane Nazi
gang. Germany was unable to free itself from Nazi rule by itself.
Help to
accomplish that goal had to come from without.

That help took a terrible toll on the people of Germany but there
was no
alternative to inflicting that carnage. The World War Two alliance
that included
England and America perservered and accomplished the liberation of
Germany.

So today the civlized world may well have to liberate Persia from
the tyrants
who rule it now if the people of Persia are unable to do so from
within.

We must admit that we can see no sign that would tell us that the
people of
Persia will be able to free themselves from the tyrant and his gang
that hold
sway there now before it is too late.

Persia is on the threshold of acquiring nuclear weapons.
It cannot be allowed to acquire them. If the world does not act soon
it may be
too late.

In such a case those Persian nuclear weapons would be used first
upon Israel and
America and then on the rest of the civilized world.
The retaliation from Israel and America would destroy Persia utterly.

Thus it is not a question of saving SOME Persians from the harm
which a
pre-emptive strike to eliminate the Persian regime and its nuclear
weapons
program and weapons of mass destruction programs and stockpiles
would cause,it
is a question of saving ALL Persians from the total destruction
which the
inevitable retaliation by Israel and America would bring to Persia,
as well as
of saving the people of Israel and America and the rest of the
civilized world
from the otherwise inevitable Persian first strike against Israel
and America.

Iran Test-Fires Sub-To-Surface Missile

Tehran, Iran (AHN)-In a show of its military prowess amid a standoff
with the
West over its nuclear activities, Iran test fired a new submarine-to-
surface
missile during war games in the Persian Gulf on Sunday.

A brief video clip showed the long-range missile, called Thaqeb, or
Saturn,
exiting the water and hitting a target on the water's surface within
less than a
mile, with navy commander, Gen. Sajjad Kouchaki telling state-run
Iranian
television, "The army successfully test fired a top speed long-range
sub-to-surface missile off the Persian Gulf."

In an advance for Iran 's weapons industry, the Thaqeb is the
country's first
sub-fired missile that leaves the water to strike its target, adding
to the
country's repertoire of weapons that can hit ships in the Gulf.

Kouchaki says the Thaqeb, which could be fired from any vessel and
escape enemy
radar, was built based on domestic know-how, although outside
experts say much
of the country's missile technology originated from other countries
like Russia
and China .

However, after decades of relying on foreign weapons purchases,
Iran 's military
has been working to boost its domestic production of armaments.

Since 1992, Iran has produced its own tanks, armored personnel
carriers,
missiles and a fighter plane, the government has said. It announced
in early
2005 that it had begun production of torpedoes."

Iranian Generals Reveal New Weapons Systems and Methods, Discuss
Possibility of
Confrontation With U.S. Forces in Persian Gulf

generals on the
subject of recent war games. The interviews aired on the Iranian
News Channel
(IRINN) on August 21, 2006, and on Iranian Channel 2 on August 17,
2006.

Iranian Channel 2, August 17

Admiral Sajjad Kouchaki, commander of the navy of the Iranian
Army: "We have
made achievements in building submarines of various tonnages."

Interviewer: "I recall a two-seater submarine which was tested two
or three
years ago. Have you built other submarines as well?"

Sajjad Kouchaki: "Yes. This is a small submarine for two divers. We
have built
larger submarines. Today, we are building submarines weighing 120-
500 tons.
These submarines can reach any depth in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf
of Oman and
the north of the Indian Ocean , and can 'shadow' the enemy's vessels
very
closely.

"Another technological aspect I can tell you about is the building
of missile
boats. These boats can carry anti-ship missiles, with a range of
over 100
kilometers. I am pleased to say that these missiles were designed
and built with
the help of personnel and experts from the army, the Defense
Ministry, and the
universities."

Interviewer: "Are these guided missiles?"

Sajjad Kouchaki: "Yes, they are."



"I would like to take this opportunity to talk about the brigades of
the
marines. I am pleased to say that our brigades are stationed today
on the Abu
Musa and Sirri islands, protecting them with all their might. These
brigades can
be divided into over 1,500 special operations teams, which can
deploy throughout
the Persian Gulf, from the northernmost tip to the southernmost tip,
the port of
Gavater , and can attack the enemy below surface, above surface,
from the air,
and from the shore. I am pleased to say that we have this
capability."

Interviewer: "Mr. Kouchaki, will you conduct new testing in this
maneuver?"

Sajjad Kouchaki: "Yes. I am pleased to say that we have many defense
technologies in this field. In general, I can tell you that several
submarines
will be tested in this maneuver."

Interviewer: "For the first time?"

Sajjad Kouchaki: "Yes. I can also say that unmanned aerial vehicles
for combat
and reconnaissance will be used for the first time in this maneuver,
as well as
torpedoes that we built ourselves, which can be launched from
submarines and
boats, as well as from islands or from the shore, to hit the
designated targets.

"In this maneuver, we are operating launching equipment for
missiles, torpedoes,
and mines. In addition, COMINT equipment and active and passive
sonar will be
used in this maneuver."



General Abdolrahim Mousavi, head of the Iranian army's Joint
Staff: "Our planes
have been given to us by their country of manufacture, but if these
countries
ever face our planes, they will see things that even they could not
imagine. The
modifications our planes have undergone - in their systems for
combat,
identification, missiles, launching, and smart bombs - all of these
are not what
they had built."



Sajjad Kouchaki: "Our tactics are completely different from the
enemy's
conventional tactics. This means that our submarines can easily get
near the
enemy. Even our enemies know full well that one of our submarines
passed under
one of their [vessels], without their noticing. We came close to
their anchored
vessels, and we even filmed their anchor chain. We followed them
through a

Abdolrahim Mousavi: "Regarding what Admiral Kouchaki said, the same
submarine
that passed underneath the American warship could have done other
things as
well. It could pass underneath it again - doing other things. The
same goes for
the unmanned planes. The same unmanned plane that flew over the
warships in the
Persian Gulf , taking pictures of them all, can do other things if
equipped with
a warhead. No matter how large they are, they have vulnerabilities."

U.N. Actions Embolden Hezbollah

UNITED NATIONS - The clearest-eyed analysts of the international
scene,
regrettably, represent the Middle East 's craziest regime.

Iran's mullahs, emboldened by Turtle Bay 's waffling on the Lebanon
crisis, are
moving quickly to consolidate their gains and solidify their seat in
the no
longer exclusive nuclear club.

Despite a U.N. Security Council-imposed Thursday deadline to suspend
all uranium
enrichment, Tehran unveiled a new heavy-water plant in Arak on
Saturday and
tested a long-range submarine-to-surface missile, called Thaqeb,
yesterday.

Iran would have us believe that the plutonium plant and the missile
are designed
for peaceful purposes only. Will the Security Council challenge that
assertion?
An Iranian following the Lebanon diplomacy would have no reason to
think so.

While Secretary-General Annan was declaring victory this weekend
over those who
doubted the United Nations' ability to put together a European-led
international
force, Iran 's proxy, Hezbollah, was breathing a sigh of relief.

Prime Minister Olmert told his Cabinet yesterday that if someone had
said before
the war that Lebanon's army could be deployed on the border - and
that Mr. Annan
could say a multinational force would disarm Hezbollah; and that a
weapons
embargo would be imposed on Hezbollah - he would have told him
he "was
fantasizing," according to Ynet.

Disarm? Impose an embargo? Here's a reality check:

The Europeans agreed to send troops to Lebanon only after receiving
assurances
that, as Mr. Annan told reporters in Brussels on Friday, "The
disarmament of
Hezbollah cannot be done by force. It has to be a political
agreement." The
Security Council, he emphasized, "does not require deployment of
U.N. troops" on
the Syrian border to enforce the weapons embargo.

As Lori Lowenthal Marcus notes in the September 4 issue of the
Weekly Standard,
during the war the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon made public Israeli
troop
movements and other information useful to Hezbollah. The new
multinational
force, which everyone now assumes will have no hostile intentions
toward the
terrorist organization, would help monitor Israel in a similar
fashion.

Israel is not ready for a "second round," Hezbollah's chief, Sheik
Hassan
Nasrallah, told Lebanon 's New TV yesterday. He said his
organization will avoid
any action that "could open the debate on a second resolution, which
Bush wants
and which is connected with disarming the resistance."

Tehran analysts could be excused for praising Allah. But what about
a new
council resolution, one that this time would really, really disarm
Hezbollah?
Such a resolution is about as likely as punitive measures against
Iran for
sticking its thumb in the council's eye.

Last week, when the mullahs dismissed the carrot they were offered,
it was clear
the council is not ready to wield its stick.

"The answer is not simply a matter of yes or no. It's a very
complicated reply,"
China's deputy ambassador to the United Nations, Liu Zehnmin, told
me after Iran
delivered a 21-page answer to an American-backed diplomatic
incentives package.
But hadn't the council asked for a yes-or-no answer on suspending
uranium
enrichment? "We want to see a solution, not a simple yes or no," Mr.
Liu
insisted.

The "solution" may come from Mr. Annan, who is embarking on a Middle
Eastern
trip today in Beirut , complete with red-carpet stops in Damascus
and Tehran .
One hopes Mr. Annan won't have to view any embarrassing caricatures.
Despite
repeated prodding, U.N. spokesmen have played it safe and declined
to denounce
Mr. Annan's host in Tehran , President Ahmadinejad, for organizing a
Holocaust
cartoon contest.

Instead, as China 's Mr. Liu said, Mr. Annan hopes to "convince the
Iranian
government to get in negotiations" on the nuclear issue.

Ah, negotiations, the elixir the Iranians have offered the council
throughout
the last decade whenever their march toward nuclear weapons
capability has been
mildly threatened.

As the mullahs learned from the Lebanon episode, their interests
often converge
with those of Western politicians who promote united international
diplomacy -
especially when everyone agrees to politely sweep the nuclear dust
under Persian
rugs.

Meanwhile, in Jerusalem , where "the international community" has
become an
oft-used phrase, officials also are saying U.N.-centered diplomacy
is working
for them.

But as Ha'aretz reported, Mr. Olmert just named the commander of the
air force,
Major General Elyezer Shkedy, to coordinate military contingency
plans on the
Iranian front. A son of Holocaust survivors, General Shkedy has a
picture in his
office of an Israeli F-15 recently flying over Auschwitz . Israel ,
after all,
was not founded on the belief that world powers could be trusted to
save the
Jews."

Despite Fear of Torture, Iranian Faces Deportation

An Iranian man who says he faces torture if forced to return to his
home country
has had his bid to stay in Canada rejected. Ali Reza Monemi, 27,
fled Iran after
he was lashed with a leather whip by the morality police in 1999.

"He was found in a public park with a woman who was married,"
Monemi's lawyer
Peter Larlee says, "and he was taken by the morality police, held in
custody for
two days and then taken back to the place where he was found and
lashed 60
times. And because of this, he fled Iran."

Monemi has been working in West Vancouver for the last five years.
Despite his
appeals to stay, he has been ordered to leave the country within the
next 11
days.

Lashings are not an uncommon punishment in Iran. They're often done
in groups of
10 to prevent the victim from passing out.

After receiving the first 15 lashes of his punishment, Monemi
couldn't breathe.
His tormentors stopped momentarily to give him oxygen, then
continued the
lashing. The worst of it was below the belt.

"We have a medical report provided by a medical practicitioner in
Vancouver who
has examined him and found that he has scarring on his back that is
consistent
with lashing, that is someone who has been tortured, who has been
whipped, and
has suffered as a result of it," Larlee says.

In spite of that evidence, and documents from Iran's Islamic court
that state
that Monemi's punishment is far from over, the Canada Border
Services Agency is
deporting Monemi because, his lawyer says, they don't believe the
claims of
torture.

"He has been convicted in abstentia, with a further sentence of 95
more lashes,
a term of imprisonment and exile within Iran," Larlee says.

Because Monemi fled Iran, he could also be facing the death penalty.
That is why
he is going to the federal court of Canada to have his case reviewed.

Monemi worries he might not survive another flogging.

"It's so scary for me," he says."

Afghanistan Re-Establishes Morality Police
AFGHANISTAN'S notorious Department for the Promotion of Virtue and
Prevention of
Vice, which was set up by the Taliban to enforce bans on women doing
anything
from working to wearing nail varnish or laughing out loud, is to be
re-created
by the government in Kabul."

Iran police in fashion crackdown
Iran's morality police have made several raids in Tehran, in an
apparent
crackdown on women who flout the strict Islamic dress code.
Witnesses said dozens of young women were held in the raids on
shopping centres
and shops in the capital.

Police also confiscated several items of clothing deemed to be too
revealing.

After winning parliamentary elections in February, hardliners warned
they would
not tolerate what they described as social corruption.


However, the clampdown could be the usual summer anti-vice operation,
correspondents say.

Since the 1979 Islamic revolution, Iran's laws say all young women
must wear the
veil and a long coat that conceals their figures, or face fines or
even
imprisonment.

'Rebellious population'

Witnesses said scores of police - including female officers in
chadors - raided
the Milad commercial centres in western Tehran and took away dozens
of young
women in special minibuses.

Shops selling fashion clothing for women - especially bright figure-
hugging
coats - were also targeted.

The police chief in Tehran recently warned that anybody caught
involved in what
he called social corruption would be punished, the BBC's regional
analyst Sadeq
Saba says.

Reports from other major cities suggest that similar harsh measures
are being
adopted there, he adds.

In the historic city of Isfahan, police recently banned women who
were
improperly veiled from entering public places, the country's
official news
agency Irna reported.

It said police in the city also banned the playing of live music in
reception
halls and at public events.

Since February's victory, Iran's conservatives have been putting
pressure on the
authorities to fight what they call the erosion of Islamic values,
our analyst
says.

The hardliners are angry that women are progressively defying the
rules by
wearing shorter, tighter and brighter coats, especially during the
scorching
summer months.

But many observers believe that the crackdown will be counter-
productive in a
country with a young, educated and increasingly rebellious
population, our
analyst adds.

Hume: Yes, and what an appealing faith these thugs must believe
Islam is, that
conversions have to be effected at the point of a gun. And what of
the argument

1920, but, by

Zionism. Less accurately, they worried about it signaling a revival
in the
Crusader impulse. No prominent Moslem voices endorsed the
delineation of
Palestine in 1920; all protested it. Instead, Moslems west of the
Jordan
directed their allegiance to
Damascus, where the great-great-uncle of Jordan's King Abdullah II
was then ruling; they identified themselves as Southern Syrians.
Interestingly, no one advocated this affiliation more emphatically
than a young
man named Amin Husseini. In July 1920, however, the French overthrew
this
Hashemite king, in the process killing the notion of a Southern
Syria. Isolated
by the events of
April and July, the Moslems of Palestine made the best of a bad
situation. One prominent Jerusalemite commented, just days following
the fall of
the Hashemite kingdom: "after the recent events in Damascus, we have
to effect a
complete change in our plans here. Southern Syria no longer exists.
We must
defend SO-CALLED "palestine" " Following this advice, the leadership
in
December 1920 adopted the goal of establishing an independent SO-
CALLED
"palestinian" state. Within a few years, this
effort was led by Husseini. Other identities - Syrian, Arab, and
Moslem - continued to compete for decades afterward with the SO-

Where did the name Palestine come from
The name Palestine refers to a region of the eastern Mediterranean
coast from the sea to the Jordan valley and from the southern Negev
desert to the Galilee lake region in the north. The word itself
derives from "Peleshet", a name that appears frequently in the Bible
and has come into English as "Philistine". The Philistines were
Mediterranean people originating from Asia Minor and Greek
localities. They reached the southern coast of Israel in several
waves. One group arrived in the pre-patriarchal period and settled
south of Beersheba in Gerar where they came into conflict with
Abraham, Isaac and Ishmael. Another group, coming from Crete after
being repulsed from an attempted invasion of Egypt by Rameses III in

been known since the fourth century as the "three Palestines." After

are in a war that will set the course for this new century -- and
determine the
destiny of millions across the world.

For America, 9/11 was more than a tragedy -- it changed the way we
look at the
world. On September the 11th, we resolved that we would go on the
offense
against our enemies, and we would not distinguish between the
terrorists and
those who harbor or support them. So we helped drive the Taliban
from power in
Afghanistan. We put al Qaeda on the run, and killed or captured most
of those
who planned the 9/11 attacks, including the man believed to be the
mastermind,
Khalid Sheik Mohammed. He and other suspected terrorists have been
questioned by
the Central Intelligence Agency, and they provided valuable
information that has
helped stop attacks in America and across the world. Now these men
have been
transferred to Guantanamo Bay, so they can be held to account for
their actions.
Osama bin Laden and other terrorists are still in hiding. Our
message to them is
clear: No matter how long it takes, America will find you, and we
will bring you
to justice.

On September the 11th, we learned that America must confront threats
before they
reach our shores, whether those threats come from terrorist networks
or
terrorist states....the regime of Saddam Hussein was a clear threat.
My
administration, the Congress, and the United Nations saw the threat -
- and after
9/11, Saddam's regime posed a risk that the world could not afford
to take. The
world is safer because Saddam Hussein is no longer in power. And now
the
challenge is to help the Iraqi people build a democracy that
fulfills the dreams
of the nearly 12 million Iraqis who came out to vote in free
elections last
December.

Al Qaeda and other extremists from across the world have come to
Iraq to stop
the rise of a free society in the heart of the Middle East. They
have joined the
remnants of Saddam's regime and other armed groups to foment
sectarian violence
and drive us out. Our enemies in Iraq are tough and they are
committed -- but so
are Iraqi and coalition forces. We're adapting to stay ahead of the
enemy, and
we are carrying out a clear plan to ensure that a democratic Iraq
succeeds.

We're training Iraqi troops so they can defend their nation. We're
helping
Iraq's unity government grow in strength and serve its people. We
will not leave
until this work is done. Whatever mistakes have been made in Iraq,
the worst
mistake would be to think that if we pulled out, the terrorists
would leave us
alone. They will not leave us alone. They will follow us. The safety
of America
depends on the outcome of the battle in the streets of Baghdad.
Osama bin Laden
calls this fight "the Third World War" -- and he says that victory
for the
terrorists in Iraq will mean America's "defeat and disgrace
forever." If we
yield Iraq to men like bin Laden, our enemies will be emboldened;
they will gain
a new safe haven; they will use Iraq's resources to fuel their
extremist
movement. We will not allow this to happen. America will stay in the
fight. Iraq
will be a free nation, and a strong ally in the war on terror.

We can be confident that our coalition will succeed because the
Iraqi people
have been steadfast in the face of unspeakable violence. And we can
be confident
in victory because of the skill and resolve of America's Armed
Forces. Every one
of our troops is a volunteer, and since the attacks of September the
11th, more
than 1.6 million Americans have stepped forward to put on our
nation's uniform.
In Iraq, Afghanistan, and other fronts in the war on terror, the men
and women
of our military are making great sacrifices to keep us safe. Some
have suffered
terrible injuries -- and nearly 3,000 have given their lives.
America cherishes
their memory. We pray for their families. And we will never back
down from the
work they have begun.

We also honor those who toil day and night to keep our homeland
safe, and we are
giving them the tools they need to protect our people. We've created
the
Department of Homeland Security. We have torn down the wall that
kept law
enforcement and intelligence from sharing information. We've
tightened security
at our airports and seaports and borders, and we've created new
programs to
monitor enemy bank records and phone calls. Thanks to the hard work
of our law
enforcement and intelligence professionals, we have broken up
terrorist cells in
our midst and saved American lives.

Five years after 9/11, our enemies have not succeeded in launching
another
attack on our soil, but they've not been idle. Al Qaeda and those
inspired by
its hateful ideology have carried out terrorist attacks in more than
two dozen
nations. And just last month, they were foiled in a plot to blow up
passenger
planes headed for the United States. They remain determined to
attack America
and kill our citizens -- and we are determined to stop them. We'll
continue to
give the men and women who protect us every resource and legal
authority they
need to do their jobs.

In the first days after the 9/11 attacks I promised to use every
element of
national power to fight the terrorists, wherever we find them. One
of the
strongest weapons in our arsenal is the power of freedom. The
terrorists fear
freedom as much as they do our firepower. They are thrown into panic
at the
sight of an old man pulling the election lever, girls enrolling in
schools, or
families worshiping God in their own traditions. They know that
given a choice,
people will choose freedom over their extremist ideology. So their
answer is to
deny people this choice by raging against the forces of freedom and
moderation.
This struggle has been called a clash of civilizations. In truth, it
is a
struggle for civilization. We are fighting to maintain the way of
life enjoyed
by free nations. And we're fighting for the possibility that good
and decent
people across the Middle East can raise up societies based on
freedom and
tolerance and personal dignity.

We are now in the early hours of this struggle between tyranny and
freedom. Amid
the violence, some question whether the people of the Middle East
want their
freedom, and whether the forces of moderation can prevail. For 60
years, these
doubts guided our policies in the Middle East. And then, on a bright
September
morning, it became clear that the calm we saw in the Middle East was
only a
mirage. Years of pursuing stability to promote peace had left us
with neither.
So we changed our policies, and committed America's influence in the
world to
advancing freedom and democracy as the great alternatives to
repression and
radicalism.

With our help, the people of the Middle East are now stepping
forward to claim
their freedom. From Kabul to Baghdad to Beirut, there are brave men
and women
risking their lives each day for the same freedoms that we enjoy.
And they have
one question for us: Do we have the confidence to do in the Middle
East what our
fathers and grandfathers accomplished in Europe and Asia? By
standing with
democratic leaders and reformers, by giving voice to the hopes of
decent men and
women, we're offering a path away from radicalism. And we are
enlisting the most
powerful force for peace and moderation in the Middle East: the
desire of
millions to be free.

Across the broader Middle East, the extremists are fighting to
prevent such a
future. Yet America has confronted evil before, and we have defeated
it --
sometimes at the cost of thousands of good men in a single battle.
When Franklin
Roosevelt vowed to defeat two enemies across two oceans, he could
not have
foreseen D-Day and Iwo Jima -- but he would not have been surprised
at the
outcome. When Harry Truman promised American support for free
peoples resisting
Soviet aggression, he could not have foreseen the rise of the Berlin
Wall -- but
he would not have been surprised to see it brought down. Throughout
our history,
America has seen liberty challenged, and every time, we have seen
liberty
triumph with sacrifice and determination.

At the start of this young century, America looks to the day when
the people of
the Middle East leave the desert of despotism for the fertile
gardens of
liberty, and resume their rightful place in a world of peace and
prosperity. We
look to the day when the nations of that region recognize their
greatest
resource is not the oil in the ground, but the talent and creativity
of their
people. We look to the day when moms and dads throughout the Middle
East see a
future of hope and opportunity for their children. And when that
good day comes,
the clouds of war will part, the appeal of radicalism will decline,
and we will
leave our children with a better and safer world.

On this solemn anniversary, we rededicate ourselves to this cause.
Our nation
has endured trials, and we face a difficult road ahead. Winning this
war will
require the determined efforts of a unified country, and we must put
aside our
differences and work together to meet the test that history has
given us. We
will defeat our enemies. We will protect our people. And we will
lead the 21st
century into a shining age of human liberty.

Earlier this year, I traveled to the United States Military Academy.
I was there
to deliver the commencement address to the first class to arrive at
West Point
after the attacks of September the 11th. That day I met a proud mom
named
RoseEllen Dowdell. She was there to watch her son, Patrick, accept
his
commission in the finest Army the world has ever known. A few weeks
earlier,
RoseEllen had watched her other son, James, graduate from the Fire
Academy in
New York City. On both these days, her thoughts turned to someone
who was not
there to share the moment: her husband, Kevin Dowdell. Kevin was one
of the 343
firefighters who rushed to the burning towers of the World Trade
Center on
September the 11th -- and never came home. His sons lost their
father that day,
but not the passion for service he instilled in them. Here is what
RoseEllen
says about her boys: "As a mother, I cross my fingers and pray all
the time for
their safety -- but as worried as I am, I'm also proud, and I know
their dad
would be, too."

Our nation is blessed to have young Americans like these -- and we
will need
them. Dangerous enemies have declared their intention to destroy our
way of
life. They're not the first to try, and their fate will be the same
as those who
tried before. Nine-Eleven showed us why. The attacks were meant to
bring us to
our knees, and they did, but not in the way the terrorists intended.
Americans
united in prayer, came to the aid of neighbors in need, and resolved
that our
enemies would not have the last word. The spirit of our people is
the source of
America's strength. And we go forward with trust in that spirit,
confidence in
our purpose, and faith in a loving God who made us to be free.

about are a stark reminder that this nation is at war with Islamic

I want to thank the government of Tony Blair and officials in the
United
Kingdom for their good work in busting this plot. I thank the
officials in
Washington, D.C. and around our country who gather intelligence and
who work to
protect the American people. The cooperation on this venture was
excellent --
cooperation between U.K. and U.S. authorities and officials was
solid. And the
cooperation amongst agencies within our government was excellent.

This country is safer than it was prior to 9/11. We've taken a lot
of measures
to protect the American people. But obviously, we're still not
completely safe,
because there are people that still plot and people who want to harm
us for what
we believe in. It is a mistake to believe there is no threat to the
United
States of America. And that is why we have given our officials the
tools they
need to protect our people.

Travelers are going to be inconvenienced as a result of the steps
we've taken. I
urge their patience and ask them to be vigilant. The inconvenience
is -- occurs
because we will take the steps necessary to protect the American
people.

Again, I appreciate the close cooperation between our government and
the
government of the United Kingdom. The American people need to know
we live in a
dangerous world, but our government will do everything we can to
protect our
people from those dangers.

nuclear weapons program in Persia, which since 1935 has been

A far greater tragedy would result from inaction on the part of
President Bush. Unless dramatic action is taken by President Bush
now it may be
too late to head off an imminent WMD attack on Israel and America
and the rest
of the civilized world by Persia, a.k.a. "Iran", and its Syrian
allies and
assorted
terrorist puppets.

Choices

The late Carl Sagan: 1934-1996, wrote of hoped for
"methods of avoiding the self-destruction that seems so real a
danger of our present technological adolescence..." in: Knowledge is
Our Destiny," The Dragons of Eden, p. 234
Sagan was hoping that some extra-terrestrial "advanced
civilizations" might have found those methods.
Here on earth we face the question of whether we can find them
ourselves before it is too late.

Clearly humanity possesses the means to destroy itself. Clearly
humanity lacks
the maturity to avoid destroying itself.

The question is whether the most dangerous people on earth in
possession of the most dangerous weapons on earth can be disarmed
before they
can use those weapons, or, ideally, can be prevented from possessing
those
weapons in the first place.

Clearly we are in a race against time. Weapons of mass destruction
in the hands of lunatics constitutes a threat to the survival of our
planet. Can the lunatics be disarmed in time? Can we prevent the
lunatics from
becoming armed with weapons of mass destruction in the first place?
How much
time have we got before it is too late and those weapons start going
off in
cities in America, Israel, Europe, Asia, Australia, etc.? Clearly
not much. The
time to act is now, before it is too late.

"Whether `tis nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of
outrageous fortune, or to take arms against a sea of troubles, and,
by opposing, end them?" Hamlet, William Shakespeare
Shakespeare was well aware of the dilemmas caused by lack of
decisiveness.

Indecision is in fact a decision. To avoid action is
to permit other actions to occur. Sir Edmund Burke put it this
way: "All that is necessary for the forces of evil to win in this
world is for a few good men to do nothing."

We saw the world stand by and do nothing as The Holocaust occurred.
We saw the world stand by and do nothing as Saddam Hussein paid a
bounty for Jewish scalps by paying the families of GENOCIDE BOMBERS
amounts which climbed from $10,000 to $15,000 to $25,000 and would
no doubt have continued to climb had George W. Bush not liberated
Iraq in March of 2003.


We saw Germans and looked, usually in vain, in a mostly futile
search to find the few "Good Germans" who opposed Hitler. The book

Goldhagen says:"... my book shifts the focus of the investigation of
the Holocaust from where it has been-namely, on abstract structures

until this point, you have probably read close to nothing about the
actual people who carried out the killings, manned the camps, and
guarded the ghettos. I have shifted the investigation to them, the
perpetrators, in an effort to explain their actions, uncover their
motivations, and explicate how such a thing could have happened in
an otherwise civilized country such as Germany.
I am very pleased that the publication of my book has produced
widespread, international discussion and that so many people seem to

President Bush on Iran
President Bush gave a speech yesterday that is among the most
important he's
given in a long time.

He was speaking to the Military Officers Association of America at
the Capitol
Hilton Hotel in Washington D.C.

He began by talking about Al Qaeda, and the nature of the enemy.

The terrorists who attacked us on September the 11th, 2001, are men
without
conscience...They kill in the name of a clear and focused ideology,
a set of
beliefs that are evil.... These al Qaeda terrorists and those who
share their
ideology are violent Sunni extremists. They're driven by a radical
and perverted
vision of Islam that rejects tolerance, crushes all dissent, and
justifies the
murder of innocent men, women and children in the pursuit of
political power.
They hope to establish a violent political utopia across the Middle
East, which
they call a "Caliphate" -- where all would be ruled according to
their hateful
ideology. Osama bin Laden has called the 9/11 attacks -- in his
words -- "a
great step towards the unity of Muslims and establishing the
Righteous...
[Caliphate]."
This caliphate would be a totalitarian Islamic empire encompassing
all current
and former Muslim lands, stretching from Europe to North Africa, the
Middle
East, and Southeast Asia. We know this because al Qaeda has told us.
About two
months ago, the terrorist Zawahiri -- he's al Qaeda's second in
command --
declared that al Qaeda intends to impose its rule in "every land
that was a home
for Islam, from [Spain] to Iraq. He went on to say, "The whole world
is an open
field for us."


He described Al Qaeda's strategy, referring to captured documents.

Still other captured documents show al Qaeda's strategy for
infiltrating Muslim
nations, establishing terrorist enclaves, overthrowing governments,
and building
their totalitarian empire. We see this strategy laid out in a
captured al Qaeda
document found during a recent raid in Iraq, which describes their
plans to
infiltrate and take over Iraq's western Anbar Province. The document
lays out an
elaborate al Qaeda governing structure for the region that includes
an Education
Department, a Social Services Department, a Justice Department, and
an
"Execution Unit" responsible for "Sorting out, Arrest, Murder, and
Destruction."
However, President Bush also went on to say "the broader terrorist
movement is
also changing," and also referred to Shia extremists and ultimately
Iran.

He was direct and did not mince words on the nature of the Iranian
regime.

Like al Qaeda and the Sunni extremists, the Iranian regime has clear
aims: They
want to drive America out of the region, to destroy Israel, and to
dominate the
broader Middle East. To achieve these aims, they are funding and
arming
terrorist groups like Hezbollah, which allow them to attack Israel
and America
by proxy. Hezbollah, the source of the current instability in
Lebanon, has
killed more Americans than any terrorist organization except al
Qaeda. Unlike al
Qaeda, they've not yet attacked the American homeland. Yet they're
directly
responsible for the murder of hundreds of Americans abroad. It was
Hezbollah
that was behind the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in
Beirut that
killed 241 Americans. And Saudi Hezbollah was behind the 1996
bombing of Khobar
Towers in Saudi Arabia that killed 19 Americans, an attack conducted
by
terrorists who we believe were working with Iranian officials.
Just as we must take the words of the Sunni extremists seriously, we
must take
the words of the Shia extremists seriously. Listen to the words of
Hezbollah's
leader, the terrorist Nasrallah, who has declared his hatred of
America. He
says, "Let the entire world hear me. Our hostility to the Great
Satan [America]
is absolute... Regardless of how the world has changed after 11
September, Death
to America will remain our reverberating and powerful slogan: Death
to America."

Iran's leaders, who back Hezbollah, have also declared their
absolute hostility
to America. Last October, Iran's President declared in a speech that
some people
ask -- in his words -- "whether a world without the United States
and Zionism
can be achieved... I say that this... goal is achievable." Less than
three months
ago, Iran's President declared to America and other Western
powers: "open your
eyes and see the fate of pharaoh... if you do not abandon the path of
falsehood...
your doomed destiny will be annihilation." Less than two months ago,
he warned:
"The anger of Muslims may reach an explosion point soon. If such a
day comes...
[America and the West] should know that the waves of the blast will
not remain
within the boundaries of our region." He also delivered this message
to the
American people: "If you would like to have good relations with the
Iranian
nation in the future... bow down before the greatness of the Iranian
nation and
surrender. If you don't accept [to do this], the Iranian nation
will... force you
to surrender and bow down."


Then, in words that could not be more clear, and should be noted by
everyone,
President Bush said:

The world's free nations will not allow Iran to develop a nuclear
weapon.

I'm not going to allow this to happen -- and no future American
President can
allow it either


Either those words will prove to be an empty threat, and hence make
us look
weak, or President Bush has made military action against Iran a real

There are theories and then there are distortions of
fact. Two very different things. Take for instance:

[Addendum, Oct. 7,: Osama Bin Laden essentially claimed credit for
the
Sept. 11 attacks in a statement recorded before Sunday's strikes on
Afghanistan. "America was hit by God in one of its softest spots," he
said. "If it continues with this policy [against Iraq and the PLO],
the sons of Islam will not stop their struggle."] It is an article of
faith in many Muslim countries that Israel was behind the attack on
the World Trade Center, with many citing as their evidence a "news
report" that 4,000 Israelis called in sick from their jobs at the
World Trade Center on Sept. 11. The allegation has now appeared on
scores of Web sites and bulletin boards, has been reproduced in
e-mails too numerous to count, and has run as fact in newspapers and
news broadcasts in the Middle East. Where did this charge originate,
and what path did it take around the world? First, a question begs:
Where did the precise figure of 4,000 Israelis come from? According
to
the Anti-Defamation League's Web site, on Sept. 11, the Israeli
Embassy released a statement expressing concern about the 4,000
Israeli nationals living in New York City-few of whom actually worked
in the World Trade Center in a Sept. 17 report on Lebanon's Al-Manar
Television. The Los Angeles Times reports that the terrorist group
Hezbollah has free access to Al-Manar's airwaves, and the station's
Web site claims that the station exists to "stage an effective
psychological warfare with the Zionist enemy." The next day at 6:26
a.m., the American Web site Information Times published an article
headlined "4,000 Jews Did Not Go To Work At WTC On Sept. 11," and
credited it to an "AL-MANAR Television Special Investigative Report."
This was not the first time that Information Times had pointed the
finger at Israel. The day after the attacks, it warned in an article
that the "terrorist government of Israel . cannot be ruled out" as a

Washington, DC, 20045. The Press Club says it has no such tenant and
repeated messages sent to the e-mail address for Syed Abeed listed on
the site bounce back as undeliverable. Directory assistance for
Washington, D.C., has no listing for Information Times. The "4,000
Jews" page is easily forwarded as e-mail, and this may explain the
message's rapid dissemination. The Information Times article ***
charges: Citing the Jordanian newspaper Al-Watan, it alleges that
"Israelis remained absent [on Sept. 11] based on hints from the
Israeli General Security Apparatus, the Shabak." No media source
except Al-Manar claims to have actually seen the editorial in
Al-Watan, which the Jordanian Embassy's information bureau describes
as an obscure newspaper with a low circulation. Al-Watan's source?
Unnamed "Arab diplomatic sources." (A few newspapers called Al-Watan
have Web sites-click here, here, and here to visit them-though none
seem to be based in Jordan.) Within days, the story appeared in
newspapers around the world. A remarkably similar version appeared
under the byline of Irina Malenko in Russia's Pravda on Sept. 21.
Pravda removed the article from its Web site a few hours after
posting, calling it a "great and foolish mistake," but it can still
be
accessed here. On Sept. 21, the Chicago Tribune reported that a
Pakistani paper, which it did not name, had published a similar
account. In his Sept. 23 Slate "Dispatch" from Islamabad, Peter Maass
reported that a local pro-Taliban politician repeated the 4,000 Jews
claim at an anti-U.S.rally. On Sept. 26, Pakistan's Business Recorder
printed the story about 4,000 Jews in language almost identical to
the
original Al-Manar article as a letter to the editor under the name
"Hakeem." The same day, the New York Times reported that the
allegation had appeared in a newsletter published by an Islamic
charity and in lesson plans prepared by Egyptian middle-school
teachers. On Oct. 4, the Chicago Tribune spotted the allegation in a
Saudi paper, which it did not name. In the Oct. 8 issue of Time, Tim
McGirk reported from Pakistan that the story had swept through the
country's mosques and Urdu newspapers. On Sept. 28, USA Today
repeated
the claim in the context that "Muslims the world over" had tried to
pin the attack on Israel. USA Today did not explain the origin of the
charge. The Village Voice did the same on Oct. 2. The hoax-debunking
site Snopes.com assailed the story, as well. With the Web as a
weapon,
a lie spreads quickly and easily. With the Web as a corrective tool,

least 4,537 people was justified, he claims, because they were "not
civilians" but were working for the American system. Bin Laden also
makes a direct personal threat against Tony Blair, the Prime

for the first time, and warns nations such as Australia, Germany and
Japan to stay out of the conflict. The video will form the
centrepiece
of Britain and America's new evidence against bin Laden, to be
released this Wednesday. The footage, to which the Telegraph obtained
access in the Middle East yesterday, was not made for public release
via the al-Jazeera television network used by bin Laden for
propaganda
purposes in the past. It is believed to be intended as a rallying
call
to al-Qa'eda members. In the video, bin Laden says: "The Twin Towers
were legitimate targets, they were supporting US economic power.
These
events were great by all measurement. What was destroyed were not
only
the towers, but the towers of morale in that country." The hijackers
were "blessed by Allah to destroy America's economic and military
landmarks". He freely admits to being behind the attacks: "If
avenging
the killing of our people is terrorism then history should be a
witness that we are terrorists. Yes, we kill their innocents and this
is legal religiously and logically." In a contradictory section,
however, bin Laden justifies killing the occupants of the Twin Towers
because they were not civilians - Islam forbids the killing of
innocent civilians even in a holy war. He says: "The towers were
supposed to be filled with supporters of the economical powers of the
United States who are abusing the world. Those who talk about
civilians should change their stand and reconsider their position. We
are treating them like they treated us." Bin Laden goes on to justify
his entire terror campaign. "There are two types of terror, good and
bad. What we are practising is good terror. We will not stop killing
them and whoever supports them." He directly threatens the lives of
President Bush and Mr Blair. "Bush and Blair don't understand
anything
but the power of force. Every time they kill us, we kill them, so the
balance of terror can be achieved." He also calls on all Muslims to
join him. "It is the duty of every Muslim to fight. Killing Jews is
top priority." Bin Laden warns other nations to keep out of the
conflict, implying that they could face terror attacks if they do
not.
In the video, he also claims responsibility for an unspecified
terrorist outrage in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which he claims was
sparked
by secret messages in one of his videos. He admits for the first time
using public pronouncements on video to whip up terrorism - a danger
about which the British and American governments have warned
broadcasters. It is significant that throughout the video he uses the
personal pronouns "I" and "we" to claim responsibility for the
attacks. In the past, he has spoken of the attackers only in the
third
person. Bin Laden has publicly issued four previous videos since
September 11, always denying carrying out the atrocities. He now
claims to have access to nuclear and chemical weapons. Bin Laden made
the claims on Friday night during an interview with the English
language Pakistani newspaper Dawn. He said: "If America used chemical
or nuclear weapons against us, then we may retort with chemical and
nuclear weapons. We have the weapons as deterrent."

spreading a rumor that 4,000 Israelis who worked in the World Trade
Center didn't report for work the day two airliners commandeered by
terrorists crashed into the towers, destroying the tallest buildings
in New York. The e-mailers and Internet sites spreading the tale
suggest this is evidence Israel, not Islamic terrorists, were behind
the attack Sept. 11 - or at least had advance knowledge of it.
There's
just one problem with the story, WorldNetDaily has learned. It's not
true. The report seems to have originated in Jordan's Al Watan
newspaper and been spread by Pakistani publications, including Jang.
Versions of the story have been repeated at news conferences by

El Alamein, Jerusalem's grand mufti, Haj Amin al-Husseini, took to
the
airwaves and broadcast in Arabic from Berlin. At that time he already
was "prime minister" of a pan-Arab government formed in the German
capital. His foreign minister was exiled Iraqi leader Rashid Ali
al-Kilani and his war minister, Fawsi al-Kaukji. Husseini called on
his numerous disciples throughout the Middle East not to lose heart
though their greatest hope - Rommel's conquest of Eretz Yisrael - was
foiled. The mufti planned a triumphant return with the conquering
Axis forces, and the construction of a death camp outside Nablus to
implement the final solution of the Jewish problem in this region.
Despair after the Desert Rat's rout was immense, but Husseini wouldn'
t give up. "Arise, o sons of Arabia," he exhorted his avid pro-Nazi
followers. "Fight for your sacred rights. Slaughter Jews wherever you
find them. Their spilled blood pleases Allah, our history and
religion. That will save our honor."


In late 1944, Husseini still sponsored a last-ditch effort to
trigger another
Arab rebellion. His agents, a mixed German-Arab commando crew,
parachuted here.
Their first mission was poisoning Tel Aviv's wells. Husseini arrived
in Berlin
three years earlier, after escaping the British. There he became
Hitler's
personal guest. The fuehrer granted him a prolonged personal
audience, and the
two reached a perfect meeting of the minds
on how to solve the Jewish problem. Husseini was put up in a large
house on Berlin's Klopstock Street, to which the SS referred as "the
Jewish Institute." With good reason. Until 1939 it was a
Zionist-oriented Hebrew school. There must have been particular
perverse pleasure in lodging the mufti precisely there. He thereafter
referred to his new residence as "The Research Institute on the
Jewish
Problem in the Moslem World." The Germans regarded Husseini as worth
investing in. Various Nazi establishments competed for his
affections.
The Foreign Ministry paid him the then monthly equivalent of over
$10,000, when the dollar was almighty. This sum was more than matched
by the SS from its sonderfund resources, which consisted of assets
robbed from Jews, often before their execution. Again, the perverse
pleasure must have been considerable. Husseini's first Third Reich
port of call was SS chief Heinrich Himmler's headquarters. Himmler
took Husseini under his personal wing. He not only organized tours
for
him to Auschwitz, but sponsored and financed his Moslem clerical
academy in Dresden. The graduates were to spearhead Nazi rule in
Moslem lands. Husseini was in charge of pro-German and anti-Semitic
propaganda for Arabs and Moslems everywhere. He recruited Bosnians
and
other Moslem volunteers, who were to cleanse newly-occupied areas of
"hostile elements," concentrate Jews for transport, and operate the
projected death machine in Palestine - in the manner Ukrainians did
the dirty work in Eastern Europe.


The SS interest in the mufti preceded the war. It financed his
uprising here
between 1936-39. In
1937, Adolf Eichmann visited this country to reconnoiter the Zionist
endeavor and meet the mufti, but the British allowed him only a
48-hour stay. Eventually Himmler introduced Husseini to Eichmann.
Thereafter the mufti became a frequent caller at Eichmann's office.
The two got along famously. They shared the goal of exterminating all
Middle Eastern Jews. This is backed by ample documentation from the
Nuremberg and Eichmann trials. At the end of 1942, Eichmann ordered
10,000 Jewish children sent from Poland to Theresienstadt. The Red
Cross offered to trade German civilians for them.Husseini got wind of
the scheme and protested vehemently to Himmler, warning him that the
little Jews would soon become big Jews. The exchange was cancelled.
Husseini is moreover "credited" with having personally foiled any
compromise on the fate of Hungarian Jewry at the very end of the war.
In his memoirs he wrote: "Our fundamental condition for cooperating
with Germany was a free hand to eradicate every last Jew from
Palestine and the Arab world. I asked Hitler for an explicit
undertaking to allow us to solve the Jewish problem in a manner
befitting our national and racial aspirations and according to the
scientific methods innovated by Germany in the handling of its Jews.
The answer I got was: 'The Jews are yours.' " After the war, Husseini
was declared a wanted war criminal. He fled to France, and from there
reached safety in Egypt, joining a host of nefarious Nazis who
continued maintaining a network of espionage, sabotage, and virulent
antisemitism from Arab havens. The mufti, who was deeply mourned by
the masses when he died in 1974, still remains revered. Arafat and
Faissal Husseini are both his blood kin. Neither repudiated him nor
renounced his teachings. A few weeks ago, an official PA communique,
reprinted in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, accused Israelis of "murdering tots
and elderly Arabs mercilessly. Jews tear open the bellies of pregnant
women and rip out the fetuses, claiming this is the commandment of
the
God of Israel, which he ordered the People of Israel to fulfill." The
logical remedy must be the mufti's recipe for saving Arab honor and
pleasing Allah.

In Baghdad, Hussein began to learn more
than reading and writing.
His tutor, Khayrallah had been
"cashiered" from the Iraqi army for
supporting a "Pro-Nazi" coup attempt
that failed. Khayrallah's
bitterness towards the British and
imperialism, soon was transferred
to Saddam. In fact, some confidants of
Hussein point to his
relationship with Tulfah
as a turning point in his political
awareness. To demonstrate Tulfah's
importance to Hussein, he was later
made Mayor of Baghdad under the
Hussein regime. Saddam finished
intermediate school (roughly the
equivalent of 9th Grade) at the age of
sixteen, and attempted to be
admitted to the prestigious Baghdad Military Academy. Unfortunately,
his poor grades prevented him from doing so, and he became more
deeply
involved in political matters. In 1956, he participated in a
non-successful coup attempt against the monarchy of King Faisal II.
In
1957, he joined the Baath party, a radical nationalist movement. In
1958, a non-Baathist group of army officers succeeded in overthrowing
the King. The group was led by General Abdul Qassim. In 1959, Saddam
and a group of Baathist supporters attempted to assassinate Gen.
Qassim by a day-light machine-gun attack. The attack was
unsuccessful,
but it helped to place Hussein in a leadership position in the
Baathist movement and furthered the process of nationalist political
indoctrination. After the attack, in which Hussein is slightly
wounded, he fled to Syria. From Syria, he went to Cairo, Egypt where
he would spend the next four (4) years. 2 [ Also in Cairo, In 1951, a
close relative of the Mufti named Rahman Abdul Rauf el-Qudwa
el-Husseini matriculated to the University of Cairo. The student
decided to conceal his true identity and enlisted as "Yasser Arafat."
3 ] Persecution was at its worst at the end of 1968. Scores were
jailed upon the discovery of a local "spy ring" composed of Jewish
businessmen. Fourteen men-eleven of them Jews-were sentenced to death
in staged trials and hanged in the public squares of Baghdad; others
died of torture. On January 27, 1969, Baghdad Radio called upon
Iraqis
to "come and enjoy the feast." Some 500,000 men, women and children
paraded and danced past the scaffolds where the bodies of the hanged
Jews swung; the mob rhythmically chanted "Death to Israel" and "Death
to all traitors." This display brought a world-wide public outcry
that
Radio Baghdad dismissed by declaring:
"We hanged spies, but the Jews crucified Christ." 4 In 1978, Saddam
had been working with other Arab nations to ostracize Egypt for it's
diplomatic initiative in resolving Israel/Arab questions. An ally,
President Hafez al-Assad of Syria, almost became the undoing of
Hussein's ascension. If a Syrian/Iraqi federation were formed against
Egypt, Assad, not Hussein, would rise to a position of greater power
in the relationship. President Bakr would lead the federation with
Assad as second in command. Hussein could not allow that to happen
and
began to urge the President to step down. Again with the help of his
family and security apparatus, Hussein was able to accomplish his
task. On July 16, 1979, President Bakr resigned, officially due to
health problems, but in reality a victim of Hussein's political
in-fighting. Moving quickly to consolidate his power, he called a
major Baathist meeting on July 22, 1979. During the meeting, various
family members and other Hussein devotees urged that the party be
"cleansed". Hussein then read a list of names and asked that they
step
outside. Once there, they are taken into custody. A high-ranking
member of the Revolutionary Command, the head of the labor unions,
the
leading Shiite member of the Command, and twenty (20) others are then
systematically and personally killed by Hussein and his top party
officials. During the next few days, reports indicate that as many as
450 other military officers, deputy prime ministers, and "non-party
faithful" were rounded up and killed. This purge insured Hussein's
consolidation of power in Iraq.
In 1980, Iraq invaded Iran and conducted an eight year war against
one
of his nearest neighbors and the home of Shiite fundamentalist
Muslims. The war continued for eight years of brutality and even
repression of Hussein's own countrymen" -especially the (Sunni) Kurds
(and the Shiite Arabs)-. "2 1941 - In April, in accordance to a 1930
treaty Iraq permits the British to move their troops into Iraq. Iraq
appeals for Nazi support and attacks the British air base at
Habbaniya. The Iraqi army is beaten and Prime Minister Rashid Ali

restored. Saddam Hussein's uncle Khairallah is jailed and Saddam
moves
to live with his mother and step-father 1981 - On June 7th Iraq's
nuclear research reactor was destroyed by an Israeli airforce attack.

uncle Khairallah published in a treatise titled 'Three Whom God
Should
Not Have Created: Iranians, Jews and Flies." In September the Iraqi
armed forces pull back East of the Karun river.
