I recently read that the Zionist Organization of America, (ZOA)
after a 6 year campaign, was able in Oct 2010 to have the OCR
(Office of Civil Rights)
clarify that Jewish students would finally be able to achieve the
same protection from harrassment and discrimination under Title VI
(the Civil Rights Act)
that other minorities have enjoyed for 50 years.
ZOA feels that there is plenty of anti Jewish attacks verbally and
otherwise on college campuses and feels that this new level of
protection for Jewish students under the Civil Rights Law is good, see
link above and below

Apparently the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (which includes the
Anti Defamation League and many other organizations) is not in full
agreement.
Meanwhile David Wilensky, the executive director of Jewish Student
Press Service (the group that ZOA says needs more protection)
disagrees with ZOA

I believe that on college campuses-- and elsewhere--, groups can
claim to be anti Zionist when in reality they are really anti-Jewish
(HAMAS is a great example), so IMO I believe having Jewish
students protected as a minority group makes perfect sense.
Opinions anyone?

Excellent well-written and well-documented article. But, since it's
on Phyllis Chesler's blog, the Usual Suspects will ignore it.
