At a time when Israel desperately needs a man of courage and
conviction it gets Benjamin Netanyahu.

--------------------------------------------------------------

Abe: At a time when America desperately needs a thinker and a doer it
gets
an empty suit.

Aren't you being a bit inconsistent, Abe? Obama has apparently thought
the matter through, which makes him a thinker, and is trying to act on
the basis of his conclusions, which maked him a doer - at least
potentially. The fact that you disagree with his conclusions and
disapprove of his proposed actions doesn't make him an empty suit.

I see that you do not dispute Yussel's implied characterization of
Netanyahu. I don't see how anyone can?

true.

Joel did not imply that Netanyahu could not think, only that he lacked
courage and conviction.
I assume that Joel is prepared to concede that he is intelligent. I
don't know what his convictions are, except the determination to keep
his coalition intact. He has been vacillating all over the place: to
Litzman on the Barzilai Hospital (until public opinion made him back
down); to Ishay on Ramat Shlomo; to Barak on the extension of
Ashkenazi's term as Comminch, etc., etc., etc... Nobody has
challenged his physical courage, but noone - Right or Left - who has
followed his political career can be unaware of his lack of moral
fiber.

Amitai

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In your opinion which Israeli leaders past or present had this "moral
fiber" which you find lacking in Bibi?

Best,
Abe

Golda Meir.

Huh? That woman was thrown out of office for the Yom Kippur War, ending 3
decades of the Labor Party's stranglehold on the nation. This despite the
rigged Agranat Commision report.

Was she responsible for David Elazar's "heart attack?" Dado a healthy man in
his prime suffered a "heart attack" just like the guy in Dubai.

Best,
Abe
