It's analogous in the sense that each act, in and of itself, is
inoffensive. The lack of care in committing that act, though, creates a
situation in which further harm occurs. From my perspective, Shelly is
willing to blame the original actor when that actor does something he
doesn't like (such as post an article stating opinions different from
his, with conclusions drawn from facts that are inconvenient), while
willing to blame the "other" (and exonerate the actor) when that actor
does something with which he doesn't disagree.
Nope, sorry. It's not analogous. You need to study the meaning of the
term "proximate cause."
The notion of "she was just askin' for it, wearin' them short skirts and
all" has long since been discredited. It's no less offensive in this
context than in that.
Umm Steve, that is _exactly_ what Shelly is claiming. "Moshe was
_asking_ for that acrimonious response when he posted that URL".
Perhaps you haven't been following the thread.

Apparently, she with the short skirts may not be to blame in ordinary
situations, but when she also calls for an end to violence against women
she suddenly becomes a hypocrite.
