I don't think you have to worry. Washington Mutual wrote my mortgage.
Payments by Electronic Fund Transfer from my Credit Union account. When
WaMu went under, they were taken over by another bank (Chase Bank?). For
me, everything has remained the same. Also, FDIC insures your accounts up
to some amount.
