I don't see that as a threat by the US or the Obama administration.

It is if they explicitly say "Look, we're not going to
stop them if you don't give us what we want."

Yes, Iran is a potential threat, but as another writer here correctly
pointed out, what should the US do?

The smart thing, & keep them from ever getting any nukes,
no matter what Israel does. & that's just for starters.

And if the US does little or
nothing, I don't see that as a threat to Israel . . . . Iran is the
threat here, not the US.

See previous statement.

That is not to say that I agree with all of Obama's policies.

I hope I didn't sound as tho' I was accusing yo uof that.

Perhaps
he is naive, soft, etc.

Naive for sure.
At least, so I'm hoping.

I read Caroline Glick's article for a second time in my local Jewish
newspaper. I always find it easier to read and absorb things in hard
copy. Now, I think I understand what is on Obama's mind, misguided as
it may be.

What he has said to Israel is not (as I originally thought), "Look,
we're not going to lift a finger to stop them if you don't give us
what we want."

Rather, the way I read the article is that Obama doesn't really give a
hoot if the Palestinians get a state of their own or not. But he
perceives that the European nations and Arab nations do care. And
Obama's thinking is that the USA needs the full support and
endorsement of the other nations of the world before the USA can take
stronger measures against Iran (whatever those may be).

So, Obama's goal is to resolve the Israeli/Palestinian situation as
quickly as possible by any means necessary in order to be able to
focus his full attention on the situation with Iran (with the support
of the rest of the world). Obama is trying to act in what he perceives
to be the best interests of the USA, and Israel's refusal to get with
the program (sic) is presenting an obstacle, so Obama is pressuring
Israel to cooperate with his plan (even if it means political suicide
for Israel - that's not Obama's problem).
