I think what you did is, after Cindy said that your family ate
shellfish, ask "Where did I say such a thing?"
What you could have
done, should have done, if she didn't recall perfectly, what you had
written, is tell us the facts a second time.

It's irrelevant because I provided the exact citation (as did Shelly).
For the record, it's unnecessary and redundant, but not irrelevant. :)
It's irrelevant to discuss whether or not my paraphrasing represented
a misunderstanding or distortion when I did not paraphrase but in fact
presented an exact quotation.
OOps.  OK.  Sorry.

As I told you before, I think you are a kind and extremely well-
meaning person, but I think your time and efforts to educate in this
arena would much better be spent elsewhere. This is a lost cause.
You may be right, but I'm unlikely to change, because I think of this
as a positive value.  Joe Bruno is unlikely to change, but I don't
know exactly why.

I do change my views if someone proves me wrong about them.
I will change my approach if someone can prove to me that it is a
faulty approach.

Others on other newsgroups have been able to correct me on things
because their arguments and facts were sound.
So far, nobody here on SCJM has done that.

Really?  I presented YOUR words, with date and timestamp, back at you --
and I did that twice.  Cindy did the exact same thing.  I think there
was also a third. Those words CLEARLY, AND IN PLAIN ENGLISH, stated that
YOU, JOE BRUNO ate shellfish.  When you referred to who was eating
shellfish in your family you used the pronoun "we", not "they".  To help
you just a little:

<sarc>
 Fromwww.m-w.com

     we
Function:  pronoun, plural in construction
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English wē; akin to Old High German

1 : I and the rest of a group that includes me : you and I : you and I
and another or others : I and another or others not including you —used
as pronoun of the first person plural — compare i , our , ours , us 2 :
1i —used by sovereigns —used by writers to keep an impersonal character

Just as someone else doesn't seem to understand the prefix "pre", you
seem to have trouble with the pronoun "we".  I can think of no other
logical explanation of why you have not admitted that proof was
presented and that you did, indeed, say that you ate shellfish.

PS: Thanks for calling us "nobody"s
</sarc>

In any legal or academic discussion, it is my right to demand proof if
someone makes a claim.
However, if someone does provide that proof I demanded, there is no
obligation on my part to say
"Yes, you are right".
If you read my comments, you will see that I never denied I had said I
ate shellfish.
I merely asked for proof.

I did not dispute the proof you provided and that is all you will get
from me.
I am here to exchange information, not to feed anyone's ego.
