Not exactly - we're working from two different premises of how the
universe works. Micha's got an over-arching theory of reality and
perception, and all of these discussions relate back to that. It's what he
was talking about in his essay.

In a nutshell, he believes that a certain type of perception can become a
bridge between the "phenomenal" universe that we experience with our
senses, and the "neumenal" universe where God lives that we cannot
normally experience directly. That "subjective" can become "objective."

He's trying to use this ruling as evidence that the Sages held a similar
view, that perception is reality.

That's where we're disagreeing, here as well as in previous discussions -
it's the same discussion, really.

Where he's going here is that if our brains perceive this ta'am of meat
even though the meat isn't there, then that ta'am has an objective reality
- it's a reality created through our perceptions. Much like how if our
brains perceive the ta'am of Torah, so too does that prove that Torah is
objectively true. That it somehow demonstrates a fact about the neumenal
universe. But it doesn't - all it demonstrates is a common flaw in our
brains. Just as an optical illusion doesn't create a fact about the
external world, it demonstrates a fact about how our brains work.
