It really doesn't make that much of a difference -- whether the note
was a sweet prayer or indended as a well-written public notice?

I hope no one here thinks that /any/ political engine in any democracy
hasn't pulled tricks like staging a note. If that's what it was, not
a major deal. His ambiguity on all issues except withdrawal from Iraq --
and, since this is scjm -- in particular his inability to lay out his
intent for Israel and the PA in a consistent manner independent of the
audience, scares me far worse.

OTOH, McCain's inability to keep the facts straight is no less scary.

I guess it'll all boil down to who each candidate surrounds themselves
with -- whether Obama finds people with actual plans or McCain gets
fact-finders who generate policies I can live with. Given friends like
Robert Malley, Soros, Brzezinski, Nicholas Pelhasm, Peter Harling,
Allan Houston (formerly a NY Knick, a man who accuses us of deicide),


PLUS Robert Rubin (Clinton's Treasury Secretary) and Paul O'Neill (Bush's
Treasury Secretary, yes, Bush 43, this is the guy who told Bush he couldn't
spend so much AND have a war AND cut taxes for the rich and was fired for
his troubles) , plus very possibly Colin Powell (who told Bush 41 to stay
away from Baghdad).
