If Google Groups wants to archive posts collected from various otherNo, exclusion from the "profile" process by which users are more
news servers, that is their prerogative. But they can't expect
subscribers of those other news servers to adhere to their Terms of

their Terms of Use are what? Exclusion from the archiving process?
Clearly not, as 12,000 of my posts are still there.
conveniently able to view your posts. I can't say that I have any
insight into their particular practices or policies. It does save
us time, though, now that you've admitted that those 12,000 posts
are indeed yours.
It appears that when you get a gmail account you also get a larger-scope
Google account, which comes with a default profile which will be displayed
when someone clicks the "profile" link next to your name in Google Groups
(possibly in other places as well). You can edit this profile, uploading a
photo, quotes, descriptions of yourself, etc. It would that these profiles
can be reviewed by Google and deleted if the profile itself violates
Google's terms of service, which would appear to be what happened in this
case. Doesn't seem to have anything to do with the posts this person made,
but to the content he added to his profile page.
It is indeed interesting that the's conceded ownership of those 12,000
posts.
As Eliyahu said, you can change into a clean shirt before you come >inhere, but that doesn't change the person wearing the shirt.
I stand by my position that we should be reviewing posts not posters.
However, there's no reason in the world why any decent person ought to
feel the need to respond to such an individual.
Just don't feed the trolls. It's as simple as that - no one needs to nanny
us, or intervene to prevent us from seeing anything. Just stop feeding the
trolls. Don't respond to this person, or a couple other people I won't
name who've shown themselves IMO to be equally awful. Come to think of it,
the other person I'm thinking of has also claimed to be (or been shown to
be) British, and is probably the same person...
Anyway, in this particular case I'm glad you responded to him to so that I
could respond to you. (guess that's a bit hypocritical, but there you go)
