What would you call the driving force of the body?
Life. And what is life? What elements does it consist of ?
It doesn't consist of elements - it's a biological process.
Is energy an element?
But I'm not saying I can define "life," just that it's what I call the
driving force of the body, which is what you asked. So if by "soul" you
just mean "life," then fine, but I don't think that gains us much in terms
of insight.
It does differentiate kittens from toy robots, though, which your previous
definition ("...does not move") fails to do.
This reminds me of the Star Trek TNG episode... "Measure of a Man".
Is Data self aware.... Yes. Does he have a soul? Nobody knows...
Nobody even knows if *we* really do.
