Sorry for taking the halacha on "lashon harah" seriously on a Jewish
newsgroup.
My understanding is that the halacha on lashon harah applies mainly
when the person being smeared is Jewish .
My understanding is that it makes no difference.
Other than a few Torahitic cases (one can sell nonkosher
meats to a gentile) and demands required to practice
Judaism, a gentile is entitled to respect and fair
treatment. There are Midrashim to that effect.
