Overwhelming

Malka Chana Roth was born in Melbourne, Australia on November 27, 1985
(Kislev 14, 5746). She died at the age of fifteen in a senseless act of
terrorist barbarism in the Sbarro restaurant, Jerusalem, on August 9,
2001 (Menachem Av 20, 5761)

The charity carrying on her name:
The Malki Foundation is focused on empowerment, allowing families from
every segment of Israeli society to provide quality home-care for their
special-needs child the way they believe it ought to be provided....

But what truly overwhelms me still, 6-1/2 years after the Sbarro
bombing, is the image at
<http://www.kerenmalki.org/images/Malki_Cellphone_0018.JPG>. It is so
emblematic: A 15 yr old girl at the pizza shop with her friend Michal,
carrying her cell phone. On the remains of the phone you can find a
reminder Malki Roth wrote herself:

Asur ledabeir lashon hara -- (it is prohibited to speak LH)!

We lost such a sensitive soul. My her memory be a blessing for her
people.
