No, certainly not. Just because it makes bad things possible doesn't
mean that it's a bad thing in itself. Just because having long pig-tails
makes it easy to pull a girl's hair doesn't mean that girls shouldn't
wear them.

I think that diverse cultures are rich and healthy, and that healthy
societies can accomodate and recognise difference without fearing it.

On the other hand, I do think tribalism - which doesn't just assert
difference, but apartness, clannishness and strongly partisan loyalties
- is a bad thing.

I would argue to the contrary, that what it needed is for majority
populations to accept that minorities can be different than they without
it being a reason to persecute them.
