It is a law of simple logic that if man is to be in the Image of the
One Who gave us existence, we can not passively accept everything. Thus,
the universe has to have faults, flaws we partner with G-d in completing.
a) So you're saying that God is subject to Logic, rather than the Creator
of Logic?
Yes. Otherwise, you have the usual paradoxes. Logic
consists in what one can say from the form of the expression,
not knowing the precise content.
Maimonides stated this; God cannot create an object He cannot
move.
There are places where God says, "Let us reason together."
b) Why do we need to be in the Image of the One Who gave us existence in
the first place?
Genesis. It is unclear what type of image, but it is
clear that we are to reason.
The greatest good we can be gifted is, paradoxically, not to be given
the greatest good.
Back to a) - so God is subservient to logic?
Yes!
