What's "jacking our environment?" Use of oil?

Yes

I know that for economic reasons, it would be hard to wean ourselves
off of it,
but wouldn't it make sense in the long run, for our enviroment

What we must do is to look at our dependence on petroleum as being a
stage in our development that was necessary at the time, and then move
on to something better and more sustainable. During the Bronze Age, no
one could imagine that bronze would eventually just be used for
decorative items for the most part, and that we would have materials
which were far more durable and effective. The same thing for iron,
which was supplanted by steel. Now, a lot of steel is being replaced
by materials such as graphite, titanium, and synthetics. We have to do
the same thing with oil, even though it'll mean some inconvenience and
temporary higher costs while making the transition. God created the
world with many sources of energy and gave us the ability to find ways
of utilizing them, and I can't imagine that He intended that we should
tie ourselves into oil until it was all used up and then go back to
riding horses to work while heating our houses with coal and reading
by candle light.
