the first chapter of Tractate Avodah Zarah. As in coming up with polite
ways to avoid the Diwali Lunch last Thurs.

Anything to avoid besides the meal?

Polite avoidance is of course, preferable.

One Muslim co-worker of mine some years back got some comments
when he didn't go to a circa. Dec. 25th celebration; I was
periodically taking LWOP anyway at that time, so that's what
I did.
