If calls for a Jew free America are not a Jewish issue, then I don't
see any purpose for this group. Go discuss the right clothes to wear
and how to make sure some food is really, really kosher elsewhere.
I see here _TWO_ sentences. The first as an "if/then", the second is
an invitation to me to leave SCJM.
And clearly there is no connection between them. And I bet you don't
even notice that the first sentence refers to the *group's purpose*.
The suggestion is not to leave, the suggestion is that the whole group
lacks value if we are to avoid discussing open political anti-Semitism
in a country with as many Jews and as powerful as the U.S.
Matt in his "explanation" below,
seems to be mixing these two sentences together. Perhaps it _is_ a
problem in how he writes.
Perhaps I figure that people can see that an idea can extend across a
sentence, that a second sentence continues the thinking of the first.
But I accept that if my writing continually confuses people, if they
are having trouble following ideas that have several steps, then I
need to change my style.
----------
This seems to be an ongoing theme, that Jews who don't share a particular
worldview or behave in a certain way should relocate to someplace else.
The theme seems to be people who don't understand English and/or
logic. I did not say that someone should go elsewhere, here or before.
I have explained it to you, but you seem much more interested in your
personal misunderstandings than in actually understanding what I
write. In this case I was arguing not that anyone should go elsewhere
but that political anti-Semitism is on-topic for the group. I argue
that it is more important that other issues discussed here. I said
that *IF* (you do understand if/then, don't you?) this anti-Semitism
was off-topic, then the *group* had no purpose. Got it? Not that
anyone should go elsewhere, but that we should discuss political
anti-Semitism.
In the other case that you referenced *you* asserted that a group of
people who think differently than I do do not want any contact with
me. That was *your* claim. I pointed out the similarity between their
desire to avoid contact with anyone outside their group and the
ghetto. You are doing everything you can to avoid discussing that
implication, including repeating slander against me.
