My new bride will be going into the hospital on Wednesday for

Absolutely.
The surgery went well, and we're hoping that my wife will be
released tomorrow for a few weeks of bed rest at home.
So glad to hear that. Now _you'll_ get a chance to pamper her with
your cooking, cleaning etc.
spent a couple days cooking and putting things in the freezer so all I
have to do is thaw, heat and serve for a few weeks. Too worried that
I'm going to accidentally treif up her kitchen... There's plenty of
other stuff to do, though, with laundry, housecleaning, etc., as well
as dealing with a well-known building supply company that delivered me
some rather poor quality wood for my deck project. (From the twisting
and warping of the 2 by 6's, I guess they grew in the famous corkscrew
forest...)
Her recovery is amazingly fast, though, and I keep having to chase her
out of the kitchen at mealtimes.
