In the law, there is the saying that "if both sides are unhappy, you
probably have a good settlement."

It may be a "saying," but it's not a legal criterion, for good
reasons. It's just as idiotic a cliche in that context as it is
in journalism. It treats truth as subjective. It's a first
cousin to the term "evenhanded" as applied to policy in the
Middle East.

If someone steals something from me, or libels me, what is "good"
about a settlement that leaves me unhappy? I'm the wronged party,
I deserve to be made whole. But in the world of moral equivalence,
there's no such thing as "wrong."

Very well said!

I might point out that that notion could have been said by any
number of Palestinians who think something was stolen from them.

Thanks Joel. It's important to reiterate the Palestinian propaganda
at every opprtunity. </sarcasm>

I am repeating their point of view. That doesn't mean I agree with it.
The analogy given above fails in the real world.

I just don't understand you Joel. You told us that the
Palestinians/Arabs/Muslims live in a "fantasy world" and no amount
of Western media can change that. OK. But now you seem to be saying
that since in their fantasy world they can claim to be "victims", it
means my legitimate grievences are on a par with their fictional
ones. Because that's the way the "real world" works. Sorry, I don't
buy that.
