Most Israelis now understand..that is why there is a massive drop
in voter turn out and it also explains the medicrity of this
generation
of leaders....people of intergrity don't want to get involved in the
cesspool of Israeli public life and become victims of the Leftist
oligarchy's tyranny.

Some of you out there may say the Honig and us are "extremists", but
the fact is at least half the population feels the country is not a
democracy
and that they are politically disenfrachised. What kind of a country
can have half its population feel that way and be a healthy democracy?
As I pointed out to one of our shul's gabbaim this morning, since I came here to
live, the blessing of "Hashiva shofteinu kevarishonah veyo'atzeinu
kevatehillah...." (Bring back our Judges as it was before, and our advisors as
in the beginning), a blessing one normally glossed over in the States, has taken
on very special meaning for me. When every day, or maybe only every *other* day,
yet another minister is indicted for corruption of one kind or another, one
truly feels the longing for Hashem's setting it all right.
Yaakov K. in Y-m, praying for Hashem to rid us of these crooks, and set things right- Hide quoted text -
I agree one hundred percent plus. But why do yoou stop there? Why
gloss over the very next blessing in the 'amida? It is not only the
corrrup leaders who need to be replaced. It is the whole corrupt
medina, the malkhuth harisha that needs to be replaced.<
It sounds like what Al Qaeda and all the Muslim fundamentalists are
saying about their own regimes! The fact is what Churchill said many
decades ago:"Democracy is the worst system, except for all the
others!" The idea that putting ISrael under Halachic law, or putting
the Muslim states under Sharia is going to change anything for the
better is purely delusonal. For ambitious people for whom ANY law is
just an bbstacle to get around to attain their aims, no law is a
barrier.
Giorgies
praying thrice each weekday that the kingdom of wickedness be
uprooted, smashed, ground down, and subjugated, and 'cause the sprout
of David Thy servant to speedily to grow and lift up his horn with Thy
salvation'.<
David himself needed salvation because he, and his sons all became
corrupt too. Nobody is immune to corruption. But different people may
be corrupted in different ways. But no human being is immune.
