What silly nonsense. People are anti-Semitic because of ignorance or
fear or because they need a scapegoat or because they formed their ideas
in an anti-Semitic culture, or some combination of all those, just as in
the case of any other prejudice.

I don't think you'll find many prejudiced babies.

I have come to believe that EVERY form of racism, antisemitism
foremost, is inherent. And everyone, bar none, is racist to one extent
or another, whether they will admit it, or not. And this will not
change unless and until there is some quantum evolutionary leap in the
genetic structure of our species. The best we can do, all of us, is to
accept the dictum "live and let live" as the credo we live by. The
more noble and idealistic biblical rubric of "love your neighbor as
you love yourself" is saintly, but hardly realistic. Love is
fleeting, but hate burns eternal. Which is why love is the emotion we
long for, but rarely attain in either getting or giving as we would
like. But hate is natural and easy to come by and sustain.
So, the best antidote is having fences. Good fences make for good
neighbors, and live and let live is the best policy possible for now.
