Re ad d'lo yada, Abudarham says that it was the custom, on Purim,
that a song was sung with alternate verses, one praising the righteous,
followed by one denigrating the evil. The audience responded to the
former by singing "baruch Mordchai," and to the latter with "Arur
Haman." A person who gets confused in his responses because of
tippling thus satisfied ad d'lo yada.
