You had it -- in 1930s Germany. How'd that work out?
We also had it here in the US since 1789 and it's worked out fine,
thanks.

This is why I feel like I am talking to troglodytes.
It may reassure you then to realize that it's not we trogs who offer
needless insults to those with whom they disagree, Jacko;-)
You speak as if America and Nazi Germany had an equivalent
"secularaism."
I think they were.
Did any Reichmarks ever say "In God We Trust"?
I'd be very surprised to find a Reichsmark that had an English phrase
on it, wouldn't you, Jacko?
(Oh, and word of warning, Abe may drop in on us and imply that only
antisemites mispell "Reichsmark.)
Did the Weimar Constitution have an establishment clause?
I think that is decidedly naive. I think you should read "The Origin of
Republican Form of Government" by Oscar Strauss (first Jewish US
cabinet member) and see what role Tora and the "Old Testament" played
in America.
No thanks. I'm on a diet from sources, authors, tomes, etc., cited but
not summarized here. It's easy to throw out names and titles as though
they bolster one's argument when one hasn't even read the work in
question.
You know, fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice....
You're smart and well educated, why not provide a paragraph or two
summary of Mr. Strauss's book for scjm readers. Maybe I or someone
else will then be inspired to seek out a copy.
But don't forget, in order to carry your argument you also have to
show that any religious bases (and I'm not saying the US is perfectly
secular, so they exist) of US society are not found correspondingly in
interwar Germany.
