I'm sure most have not missed the irony of how bitterly Dan complained
when someone posted a few weeks ago about a "Democratic Holocaust
Denier," saying in effect that this guy wasn't really a "Democrat"
and how the poster "betrayed her rightwing agenda" by using the term.
But then Dan plays the same childish game in reverse. Just to
make it simple and put an end to this, I think we can all stipulate
that we can find Democrats and Republicans who are anti-Israel,
appear to be anti-semitic, etc., etc. The idea that this implies
that anyone who is a [Democrat, Republican] is therefore so tarnished
is just silly.
Jim is being disingenuous if not out rigiht ridiculous. The so-called
"Democrat" was someone with no party ties who had entered a state primary.
Henry Hyde is part of the Republican Congressional leadership and has been
for many years.
I think it's ridiculous to deny the difference which is exactly why I posted
it. Politically right Jews continue to blind themselves that the party they
have allied themselves with are not true supporters of Israel, are not
supporters of religious freedom in the US, and are anathema to many Jewish
values.
Jim tries to cloud the waters by pretending that some fringe character in
Alabama -- who is being disavowed by actual Democrats -- is the same as
someone who is part of the Republican establishment. There's a reason most
American Jews have been Democrats historically and remain so, even as those
on the right try to blow smoke in our eyes.
