"It looks that not only the British Professors. I was in London
staying in a nice hotel, White House, by the Reagents Park. The
receptionist did everything she could to annoy me. As a rule, when
asked her anything, she replied in Cockney, forcing me to ask her
three times what is she talking. She let me always wait 2-3 minutes
before raising her eyes from her paperwork. She behaved correctly,
but I got the definite impression that I am not welcome."

Hmmm, "she behaved correctly" missed that the first time round.

I don't understand the bloke, first he says "The receptionist did
everything she could to annoy me", then he says, "She behaved correctly".
I wish he'd make up his mind.

Correctly, as in conforming to minimal standards, but not inviting, not in a
friendly manner. Giora's English may not be up to your standards, but he was
remarkably clear in his statement.

Giora, why England? Go to France next time. They take pride in being rude to
non-French speakers, but they have wine, women and food - as good as it
gets. Israel has the women; food is not bad, and wine is starting to catch
up. England? What does it have?

(Perhaps you studied French in Romania? Romanian is a Romance language, so
you should have little problem in France.)

[Sound of Abe ducking from the Brits....]
