Just curious. I normally eat cereal except during Pesach. Then it is
eggs with Matza.

The problem is that my doctor wants me to eat more protein. Normal US
breakfast is either just coffee and something sweet or cereal or eggs
with pork. Omlets are nice but then it is without cheese or ham.

Any ideas?

Not sure what you're trying to accomplish by adding the comments about
ham/pork, but anyhow... There's no reason that breakfast needs to have
special foods that are different than any other meal. I eat anything
from pizza to a roast beef sandwich for breakfast and haven't had
cereal since I was a kid. Treat it like any other meal.

I forget that the Brits eat all sorts of strange things, ie fish, for
breakfast. And college kids will eat whatever is handy!

Look at the typical American breakfast. It is either cereal or
McDonalds. At McDonalds, it is eggs and some form of pork in a
sandwich. Or pancakes.

Excuse me? You need to get to know more people. Or you need to talk to the
majority of us; we do not purchase breakfast out on any regular basis.

We are not observant, nor do we live in a Jewish neighborhood. No one I know
goes to McDonalds for breakfast, and there is one 7 minutes away by car. The
expense alone is prohibitive. Going to McDonalds is hardly typical.

Yes, my family chooses to eat mostly cereal. That includes oatmeal. Plain
old scrambled eggs is a biggie. fried eggs. Hard boiled eggs. veggie omelets
(with or without cheese), ranch omelets (onions and peppers), scrambled eggs
and cheese rolled up in a tortilla. Even a protein shake would achieve your
goals.
