I recommend the Tenach. A great book for jews of all persuasions.

And that's the only book on Jewish topics you've ever read that you
considered worth reading? The huge number of books printed by Orthodox
publishers suggests that most observant Jews feel otherwise. Since we
can reasonably assume that all of the regulars here are already quite
familiar with the Tenahk, what's your point? That no one should
mention any other Jewish writings they've enjoyed or profited from?

seems i'm not yet auto-moderated. I don't know if I am or not.

my point is that Those books are only recommended to those that are
interested in the arguments of those that hold that the torah is false.

There is a big difference between false, as a lie, or false,
as a collection of legends and other items believed to be
true at the time. I do not accuse the compilers of the
Tanakh, or the Talmud, from putting down anything they did
not believe to be true.

This does not mean that they were not mistaken. We have other
sources of information, which are quite reliable.
