I just hope she doesn't end up in my situation. I was placed in the
gifted student program, but my parents wouldn't let them promote me a
couple grades as well, and I was still bored out of my skull most of
the time for the next seven years. Not surprisingly, I spent a lot of
class time goofing around and, depending on whether I enjoyed a class
or not, would bring home report cards with four or five A's and a
couple F's from not having done the work.
