BTW Dan if you're reading this I got that book by Max Dimont from the library, I really lucked out because they had it audio format. For some reason (the nuerosurgeon explained it, but not being a nuerosurgeon I didn't understand it <G>) ever since I had the stroke 10 years ago I've had trouble staying mentally "focused" long enough to read a book with my eyes but if someone reads them to me I have no trouble staying focused. I like to joke that I'm prematurely elderly I can't balance or remember stuff, but hey, I'm not dead or paralyzed! :)
We use different sections of our brain for reading input vs aural input.
There are many people who have difficulty with reading comprehension
who are very able to learn if they hear the material. Sounds like something similar here.
Wow, if the neurosurgeon had explained it like that I'd have understood him the first time :) Do you know if maybe my lack of ability to stay focused on written material might be related to my short term memory?
