Well, Micha posted it earlier in this thread but look at Deut 12:1-4
which we read the Shabbat before last.
"These are the laws which you shall observe in the land... you shall
destroy all the places where the goyim worshipped their gods ... .You
shall not do the same to the Lord your God."
