BUSH’S TWO-STATE DELUSION 15773 – Richard H. Shulman
THE WORLD IN PRETENSE
Think about it! So much of public life is fantasy and myth. There
always was much myth about history. Now propagandists deliberately
fabricate tales, as Israel’s “new historians” and other leftist anti-
Zionists do about Zionist history.
Rather than study Islam and discover how intractable and hostile it is
towards people of other beliefs, people fantasize about its nature and
coming to terms with its champions.
Some of those people also blame most of the world’s problems on the
US, i.e., those who aren’t blaming “the Jews” for it all. Others find
nothing wrong. Some politicians claim that almost everything is wrong
with the US Administration. What they fail to condemn, however, its
policy towards Israel, is wrong. Rice’s policy leaves a trail of
blood.
Some people suspect most problems result from conspiracy, while others
laugh off all such suspicions. Truth is, many governmental
conspiracies exist, even in erstwhile democracies, and some of them
are horrible. Not everything is a conspiracy, but facts should be
analyzed, not ignored.
My newspaper, the NY Sun, thinks that the free market system solves
all problems, whereas some Democratic candidates think it creates most
problems. They claim to know how to regulate industry to eliminate
problems. What arrogance! As usual, the free market creates many
problems and solves some of them. Regulations, even if not
politically rather economically motivated, often backfire.
Many of the fantasists have the effrontery to call themselves
realists. Sen. Obama indulges in the fantasy that he could talk with
fanatics and domesticate them. He may become President, whereas he
should be a charming inmate.
I am disappointed that so much of the time I spent in school was
learning falsehood. Other facts and skills I learned have become
obsolete. Most people resist unlearning what they worked to learn.
They don’t realize how much nonsense their outlook and store of
knowledge consists of.
PRES. BUSH’S DELUSION
Israeli leaders keep referring to Pres. Bush’s “vision” of two states
living together in peace. They make it sound insightful and
idealistic. It is not a vision but a delusion, really a cynical
attempt to delude others. It is an attempt to deprive Israel of
defensible borders without even first getting the Arabs to want peace
and stop inciting to war.
