They certainly did, as an insult to the rebellious Jews. Philistia, was a
reference to the Philistines of old who could not beat the Jews even though
they warred constantly.
The Philistines were not Arabs, they were a Golgotha people allied closely
with the Phoenicians who were not Arabs either.
Palestine is a derivative of that old misnomer.
