A DEMOCRATS' ADVISOR
Pres. Carter's former National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski,
is advising a presidential candidate. He attributed Israel's sense of
national insecurity to its people having been "traumatized by the
Holocaust." (David Twersky, NY Sun, 11/26, Op.-Ed..)
Palestinian and other Arabs have attacked Israelis for about 87
years. The Arabs expressed intent to exterminate the Jews. Mr.
Brzezinski's remark is ridiculous on its face. It excuses the Arab
aggressors, which fits in with his and Carter's anti-Zionism. Beware
the Democratic candidate whom he advises!
IRAN WARNS US
The US has been warning Iran to step down from nuclear bomb
development or face attack. Iran warns the US not to dare attack it.
It threatens a pre-emptive attack.
Iran considers US forces in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Gulf its
hostages. Its thousands of missiles can strike at them. It has a
modern arsenal. It threatens to close off the Persian Gulf, through
which the West gets much of its oil (IMRA, 11/27).
Suppose Iran anticipates a US attack not intended. It then attacks US
forces preemptively. Can we afford to wait for that? Its threats
make it more likely that we must attack it and more destructively.
Our leaders should not have let it come to this! They did not want to
make tough and unpopular decisions then. Now the decisions are
tougher and would be more unpopular. Same goes for N. Korea and
Pakistan.
MORE STATE DEPT. PROMOTION OF TERRORISM
The State Dept. is pressing Israel to let P.A. ambulances through
checkpoints without hindrance. The Olmert regime seems to be giving
in (IMRA, 11/27) as usual.
The Arabs use ambulances to ferry healthy terrorists and arms. A
responsible Israeli government would continue to inspect them
thoroughly, before letting them pass. A decent US government would
not demand anything else. Conclusion: the Israeli government is not
sensible and the US government is indecently pro-Arab. This further
disproves the myth that the Bush administration is kindly towards
Israel.
ILAN PAPE DEFENDS PFLP IN DANISH COURT
Denmark is prosecuting the PFLP as a terrorist organization. Former
Israeli history Prof. (and Communist) Ilan Pape testified for the
defense, reiterating Islamic slander against Israel. He claimed that
the Arabs are allowed to defend themselves from illegal occupation
(Prof. Steven Plaut, 11/21). Why do they accept such historically,
legally, and logically false testimony?
