WHAT TRUTH IGNORED?

Protests have downgraded a book signing for Scar of David by Susan
Abulhawa. The author depicts the complaints as part of a pattern of
"ignoring the truth about Israel's actions. 'It's 60 years of
basically ethnically cleansing the native people...because they're not
Jewish.'" (Elizabeth Green, NY Sun, 5/24, p.4.)
What is the record? The Muslims have been ethnically cleansing the
Mideast of millions of Christians! <


You (and many others) forget the murder and ethnic cleansing of the Jews out
of Medina and the Hijaz by Muhammad, which is off limits to Jews and
Christians to this day.

From about 1900, Jews and Arabs
immigrated en masse to the Palestine Mandate that reconstituted the
Jewish national home. The Arabs sought jobs provided by Zionism, but
also sought to thrust the Jews out. Now the Arabs call themselves the
natives.

From 1947, the Arabs bragged they would exterminate Israeli Jews.
They expelled hundreds of thousands of Jews from their own countries
and some from the Land of Israel. The P.A. still advocates at least
ethnic cleansing.

Meanwhile, Israel let the 140,000 Arabs who did not flee that early
war stay as citizens. It let more enter. The 140,000 have grown to
more than a million. Some ethnic cleansing!

There is indeed a pattern of ignoring the truth. The Western world
lets the Arabs make defamatory claims uncontested except by a few
people, usually Jews. Few Westerners speak up for decency, and many
who call themselves "progressive" speak up for indecency. Something
is wrong with our lack of moral fiber. The Muslims wish to destroy
Western civilization and all independent cultures, but our instinct
for survival is atrophying, like Europe's.

Americans suppose that books by reputable publishers may reach
controversial conclusions but are not replete with lying propaganda.
That is not the case with tracts written by Abulhawa and Jimmie
Carter. Publishers should do responsible fact-checking, so their
books are not false labeling.

MULTI-CULTURALISM: RULE BY A HATE-BEARING MINORITY?

English schools stopped teaching about the Holocaust and Crusades,
because Muslim deny the Holocaust and have a different view of the
Crusades. Europe used to expect immigrants to adopt Western culture,
but they are giving in to the Muslims' outrageous demands (Norman
Podhoretz, Commentary, 6/2007, p.19).
