Israel Defense Forces and Israel Police have given settlers who have
recently occupied a Palestinian home in the West Bank city Hebron 10 days to
evacuate the building.
After the settlers took over the home near the Avraham Avinu neighborhood,
representatives of the Civil Administration arrived to question them, but
the settlers presented them with documents attesting to the legal
acquisition of the house.
After a closer inspection of the documents, officials expressed doubt over
their validity, and decided to issue an eviction order. Israel Defense
Forces are preparing for a potential evacuation by force.
At the end of January, a similar battle was avoided at the last minute when
settlers came to an agreement with an IDF representative to voluntarily
evacuate stores they had occupied in the Hebron wholesale market.
