Actually, the VERB would take a feminine ending, since the modern
Hebrew "present tense" is an old active participle which inflects like
an adjective -- so that "I hear" would be _ani shomea_ (masculine) or
_ani shomaat_ (feminine). The pronoun does not change. Hebrew
pronouns and non-participle-derived finite verbs have distinctions
between masculine and feminine forms too, but only in the 2nd. and
3rd. persons (never in the 1st. person -- and such distinctions are
somewhat archaic in the plural in modern Hebrew).
