And good riddance.

Brady knew Smyth was a paedophile but he didn't tell the gardai.
Smyth
went
on to rape children for another 18 years.

Brady sees nothing wrong in this and he's digging his heels in like
the
rest
of them.

Typical RC church response. How can any decent person have anything
to
do
with this depraved cult any longer?

Mens sana.

"Cardinal Sean Brady, primate of all-Ireland, admitted he was
present
at meetings where two abused teenagers were made to sign vows of
silence.
The meetings followed complaints of abuse against Fr Brendan Smyth,
jailed in the 1990s for serial child abuse.
"Frankly I don't believe that this is a resigning matter," the
cardinal said.
Cardinal Brady said he had been following church orders and that
there
were no guidelines for him to follow."

"I voss only followink orders."

MS.

It's amazing how much time they spend talking about the Bible. And
then end up with 'no guidelines to follow' on an event like that. And
still people like EX_OWM will stick to the belief that the CC is the
unique institution that is the ONLY WAY to salvation of the soul. But
don't be asking him what or who precisely constitutes this unique
institution, 'The Church'. One minute 'she' is 'the people', next
moment, we have to accept 'she' is led by an infallible Pope, a
specific leader who's top down authority can't be questioned by the
people, or anyone, because he's the annointed leader who is magically
infallible on points of morality and doctrine. But then we have to
accept that he can sin, be wrong, can do something like fail to
respond to an enquiry on abuse, because the requests for information
'were not made through the correct diplomatic channels. Sorry, but
it's just a load of total and utter bollocks. I just don't see how
someone could claim to be honest on any level, either morally or
intellectually, but do all the ducking and diving necessary to somehow
try and retain this bizarre edifice of non-credible beliefs. And now
the guy *at the very top* of the Irish CC can't even stand up and own
to some things as fundamental as reporting abuse to authorities
'because he was not the designated person', or refer to his own moral
compass on whether it is right or wrong for abused children to be
bound to silence about an abusive priest. This goes beyond any level
of surreality that could ever have been thought up.

The silence of the RC apologists on this is deafening.

MS.

Oh come on, it is only their leader, the ultimate moral and spiritual
and religious authority in Ireland. Nothing major going on here.

And his boss, the former Nazi in Rome who's also up to his neck in
facilitating and shielding paedophiles.

Mens sana.
