5, Pink Elephant for mad haircuts, Studio 5 for normal haircuts
6, The Slattery brothers on the door in Fernandos.(the George) they
don't
make bouncers like they used to.
7, Candy Corner outside CBS sexton street
9, The dolphin
1. Building rafts in the swamp in Wetsfields Park.
2. Nancy refusing to serve pints to women in Nancy Blakes.
3. Lying about your age to Martin outside Schooners (The Granary).
4. Getting the bus for 5p.
5. The crush outside The Royal Cinema for "The Bermuda
"Triangle". Turned out to be a documentary.
6. John the man's death notices. "Ah sure, it's grand, we didn't know
any
of them.
7. Vote Mick Crowe, the man you know - best election slogan ever.
8. Happy butcher, Noel O'Connor!
9. The Horses and Traps going to hurling games in the Gaelic Grounds.
10. AIL games in the early days.
DoDo Reddan rolling the dogs around in the pram.
Buying a paper outside the Limerick Leader Office.
The pick and mix section downstairs in penneys.
Kiddies korner at Harrys beside Dunnes Stores on Sarsfield Street.
Burgerland.
Boyds.
Crossing the footbridge from Cals park to Janesboro.
Getting conkers on pery square off the trees in the protestant church.
Naughtons chipper coming into CBS on lunch break selling the chips.
Frankie Flynn singing "There is an Isle" every time we won a
trophy.God he
used to sing it a lot!!
Mrs Rowlands bakery across the road from Hassetts pub. Best apple
slices
ever.
Playing Queenie-I-O..

Having to do PE in Salesians cos there was no gym in Ard Scoil.

5. Day trips to "Delmeges" - now in Moyross , in hindsight we didnt go
far!!
6. Late night Movies in the Central.
7. Toffee apples from Doyles- How we survived is a Mystery
8. Buns from the Dainty Dairy in Kileely
9. Late night chips in Dirty Dicks- you could sit down!!!
10. Joe malones pub in Denmark- learning to drink first pints Guinness
with
Blackcurrant-- AGGH.

Scaring the bollix out of ourselves crossing Thomond Bridge at
midnight
daring a Certain Lady to show up.
Mad Paddy up in College Ave. in Moyross.

2. Being able to party all night and head to the Horse and Hound for
the
cure and a full Irish breakfast.
3. Liver beans and chips in Dirty Dicks at 2am.
4. Watching the Reapers heading for Nellies on Sunday afternoons.
5. Buddys Bar.
6. Live bands in what is now the Texas Steakhouse.
7. Tapping the old pay phones.
8. Francis Coleman tapping outside the Grand Central.
9. Listening to egits who went to Saturday Night Fever 40 times.
10. Shanty Town in Limerick Boat Club
(1) Cals Park on a Sunday Morning - Running for cover when the Pie
Balds
stampeded. Everytime an old lad in a suit was coming home from Mass
then
standing behind the goal watching the game your Old Man then telling
you
that he was a scout and you then breaking your bollix.
(2) Peter France and the annual "Closing Down Sale".
(3) Requests on the Radio for songs. Can you play "West End Girls" by
the
Pet Shop Boys for all the Girls in Weston.
(4) Danish Viking on Catherine Street.
(5) Super Chip.
(6) Bulldog on the green.
(7) Sammy Benson Band.
(8) Joe Walshs and McGoverns.
(9) Tuesday Blue-Tunnel Vision - Mike Ryan and all that Bahai Gowling.
(10) John the Man and his failed election Bid- "Frawley John for the
Dail
has gone and he can't get number one".
(11) Hank on the door of the Old Tom, manky pints of Furstenberg and
afraid
to complain about then as you were 17 and then having a dose of the
shits.
(12) Gola Soccer Boots.
Ooooh.forgot to add John The Man's "Dressing Gown Brigade" and his
faithful
Gallopin' Maggot.
Leaving Limerick to go on holidays and get away from it all - to
Kilkee,
only to find all your neighbours & friends down there too - kind of
like a
parallel universe. Limerick with sand.
Ah yes these were definitely the good old days!
