Today, Wednesday 25 July 2007, the Armed Forces Minister, Bob Ainsworth,
made the following written statement to the House of Commons:

****************

Next week, on 31 July, Operation BANNER will come to an end, the three
Services (Army, Royal Air Force and Royal Navy) having delivered
continuous support to the police and civil authorities in Northern
Ireland for 38 years. It will have been the longest continuous
deployment of UK Armed Forces in their history.

After 1 August

My 40th birthday. I want to thank everybody involved for the best
birthday present I could ever receive.

You're welcome.

It has nothing to do with you... Your army was driven out! But you put a nice
face on surrender and run back home to mommy all you like but we all know the
truth...

Ray

BTW, Happy Birthday Nik! And may God bless you with many more!

Ray

Same from me Nik!

BTW, I've just looked up the life expectancy of part-Irish, part Maori
people, so I might as well say "Goodbye" now and save myself the
trouble of posting again...

It is true that Maori have a shorter life expectancy than people of
European ancestry but, fortunately for me, longevity runs in my
family...my great-grandmother, the Maori one, only died in 2002 at the
age of 96 and her daughter, my grandmother is still going strong at
82.

But thanks anyway...I'm sure you meant well...

Nik
