That would be the Solicitor-Client Privilege Act of - I don't know -
when
exactly?

Fine. I'll just have to assume you made it up.

...

Presumably the Lord Chancellor was just "making it up"
as well then. You pig-ignorant scumbag.

This is from Hansard, you thick ***.

You're even more fucking ignorant than Cantillon.

And morons like you are allowed to vote !

A consultation paper issued by the Lord Chancellor's Department on
31 July 2002 states:

"Legal professional privilege is a cornerstone of the legal system.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It serves the public interest because it recognises that it is in the
interests of justice that a person consulting his legal adviser should
be able to do so in confidence, since otherwise he may not feel able
to be fully open about his position. This might impede his ability
either to protect his rights or to defend himself properly in any
subsequent action".

The Law protects a lawyer from prosecution for not disclosing privileged
information, it does not give him the right to collude with his client to
incite murder or pervert the course of justice. I know that it may be
acceptable, even normal practice, in republican circles, (after all, it's
happened so often) but I think that in a civilised society we have the
right to expect the authorities to do their best to prevent witnesses from
being murdered before they have a chance to give evidence - and for the
courts to punish those who conspire to do so.
