The Irish Daily Star ran the cartoons yesterday. I don't know of any
other papers that have run them yet.

The Times editorial today notes it has not published the cartoons.
However, they point out that they carry an image of the prophet in a
story in the Chester Beatty collection, which includes in its displays
images of the prophet in medieval art 'because it is essential to
illustrate the story'.

By the way, for anyone out there thinking smugly that in Ireland
religious outrage would not lead to the withdrawal of a cartoon,
remember that Paddy Power was forced to pull its Last Supper billboard
ad last Autumn:- http://www.meganandjack.com/mt/archives/000360.html

And its not the only instance of advertisements offending Christians
in Europe either:- http://ad-rag.com/124825.php

I hadn't seen either of those before (all I ever felt safe doing
growing up was to scribble chest hairs on the Sacred Heart)

Speaking to the current outrage of Muslims though, I do remember
feeling deep shock, even as a well-developed atheist, when I first saw
"Southpark: Jesus vs. Santa" long before the show got to TV.

[Jesus and Santa fight]
Kids: Go Santa!
[Jesus looks at them]
Kids: Uh, go Jesus!
[Jesus and Santa fight more, Mortal Kombat style]
Kyle: Oh my god! They killed Kenny!
Jesus: Boys, help me put an end to him once and for all.
Santa: No, boys, help me, so that I can put an end to him.
Jesus: God is watching you, boys. You know who to help.
Santa: Stan, remember the choo-choo when you were three?
Jesus: I died for your sins, boys. Don't forget that.
Stan: I don't know what to do, dude. Who should we help?
Cartman: I say we help Santa Claus.
Kyle: Eh, you're just saying that because he brings you candy.
Cartman: Hey! I don't need to take that kinda shit from a Jew.

Meanwhile, in the USA:- http://tinyurl.com/ba792

That cartoon is still on the WP website

Makes a good argument for the body-armour snafu.

Having checked the online editions of other Irish papers, the Indo and
Examiner cover the story, but AFAICT don't carry the images, while in
the wee insular North the Irish News, Belfast Newsletter and Belfast
Telegraph don't seem to have International sections - at least not
online.

Martyn Turner did a couple of toons last week

All of this just totally blows my mind.

Then there's the ongoing Comedy Intifada
