In this article, as in the articles published on the Iranian election,
there is a large element of provocation. Such “news” items are written
on assignment from US intelligence agencies. This corruption of the
media is itself a critical expression of, and factor in, the advanced
decay of American democracy.
You forget that the USA invented the Internet which we Americans can
use to access foreign media. Right now I can read IRNA "news" in
English, and I have chosen to believe it is nothing but propaganda and
lies.
Unlike Iran, the USA does not restrict access to foreign media
sources. I'll admit that CNN, MSNBC, and Fox are biased, so I get
most of my news from sources like Reuters, Associated Press, Christian
Science Monitor, and even Al-Jazeera. I'll read Russian, Chinese,
Cuban, North Korean, and Iranian propaganda if I want to get their
perspective on certain issues, but that does not mean I agree with
them.
Iranians have weak minds and can not handle listening to a variety of
opinions, and must have their information pre-digested for them by the
ruling clerics, all mashed up with the unpleasant lumps removed and
regurgitated for their consumption.
The response of the US media to the election underscores the fact that
the American working class can defend its democratic rights only by
developing its own mass, independent socialist movement.
Why would someone from a country that preaches Death to America care
about how we defend our democratic rights?
