Union of Shia Muslim Preachers and Scholars has been granted formal EU
permission to carry out its activities in Europe.

Taghavi noted that the union has legal permission to establish
branches in all cities and countries which are part of the 27-nation
EU bloc.
Pointing out to the fact that Muslim community has been under massive
propaganda across the continent in recent years, Taghavi said the
Union aims to bring compromise among various Muslim schools of thought
and defend the community's civil rights.
"Offering a rational picture of Islam, forging a peaceful coexistence
between Muslim and non-Muslim communities and introducing the
Europeans to the real essence of the Muslim faith are among other
objectives the group has set for itself", he said.
"Nowadays Europeans are looking for who is the true source of Islamic
authority amid unrelenting blows the faith has received in the recent
years".
Nearly 90 Shia delegates representing Muslim communities living in
Europe have participated in the two-day event which also hosts Islamic
scholars and preachers.
