Washington, the enemy of all Muslims
Al-Khalil, May 31 - Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said on
Tuesday that Washington is the enemy of all Muslims.
Speaking in an interview with IRNA, Haniyeh said that Washington makes every
endeavor towards the failure of the Palestinian democratic government.
He said that American administration has stood against Islam and the Muslims
and is under the influence of the Zionist lobby.
"Palestinian nation and the Islamic Ummah are not enemies of American
people. They do not accept hegemony of the US and oppression," Haniyeh said.
Asked about probable escalation of civil war in Palestine, he said that
fighting between Palestinians is the red line for all and there is no place
for such an event in Palestine.
"Palestinians are a nation who have made many sacrifices in resistance to
the occupying forces and all share the commitment to safeguard national
security. People have joined hands with institutes of Palestinian self-rule.
"All the nation know that there is a common enemy who are the occupying
forces against whom we should stand," Haniyeh said.
"Normally, there are differences between Fatah movement and Hamas, but,
wisdom and democratic means prevail over them in a way that it will never
lead to fighting."
He said that leaders of Fatah movement and Hamas are used to coming to terms
in case of emergence of any tension and manage to end it immediately.
"There are effective agreements between the two parties."
He said that the Zionist regime of Israel should withdraw from the
territories it has occupied since 1967 and respect the right of Palestinians
refugees to return home, respect a permanent ceasefire and allow Palestinian
government to open up for a democratic society.
Haniyeh said that the Palestinian government respects the president of
Palestinian Self-Rule and there is sense of full trust between the president
and the prime minister in accordance with the Constitution, and authorities
of the president of the self-rule and the government, understanding and
national interests of the Palestinian nation.
