Spiegel:
Sanctions on Iran Inflict Great Losses on Germany

Tehran -- The German Weekly 'Spiegel' (Mirror) said that a total cut-off of German
Companies' dealings with Iran would inflict significant losses on the German
government.

The Spiegel article which is titled "Big Pressure" and is to be published in the
Monday edition, says that the German government is liable to pay over 5 billion euros
to German companies active in Iran in case of a trade cut off, as a result of any
probable economic sanction on Tehran.

The German volume of export to Iran stood at around 3.8 billion euros ($4.8 billion)
in 2005, meaning that Iran has remained Germany's top trading partner in the Middle
East.
